Rating: Exceeds Expectations

i wasnt sure how good the pictures would be at such an affordable price. i used this camera and a 35mm camera at the same time and the picture quality of the hero was far greater than the other camera. i did take many shots so that i would be sure to get some good ones, then just d what didnt turn out. i was afraid it would be difficult to use the view finder since it is so small, but it seems to magnify well enough to get get good shots even with a mask on. the light does get in the way sometimes, but i got used to it and had no problem working around it. the fact that it sits on your wrist is a great feature. it makes it very handy and helps to keep it steady. it was wonderful that it comes with the usb cord that is compatible with the tv and computer, i was able to look at my pictures while still on vacation. the only reason i wouldnt give it 5 stars is that one of the prongs broke on the underwater housing so it wont seal now. i will have to get that replaced but the camera is well worth the trouble. i love it!!

Rating: GoPro Digital HERO 3 Wrist Camera
Reviewer: Eric McDermott, Monday, June 18, 2007 - View all my reviews
Overall, this is a pretty good camera. Its only a 3 megapixel camera, so the pictures are not excellent, but they are good. I bought this camera mainly for scuba diving although it can be used for other sports. The fact that it is very small and can be worn on your wrist like a watch is a big plus. It straps down easily on your wrist and swivels up when you want to take pictures or video. The clip that holds the camera down can easily be attached and detached while wearing scuba gloves. The better the visibility of the water, the better the pictures. If visibility is poor, the camera will pick up the murkyness of the water. Shutter speed is kind of slow, but not a major problem. For the price this is a good camera. If youre real picky though, or want a camera with lots of features, you may want to go with a more expensive camera.

Rating: Whats Up With That Power On/Off Button?
Reviewer: Thomas B., Friday, May 25, 2007
i mean really. its the only complaint i have about the device. it is handy and takes good photos but my thumb can only take so much abuse. the power on/off button works fine outside the casing, but when out in the water and inside the casing the thing is almost impossible to operate. pressing as hard as you can to power the thing off usually results in having to go through all the other modes: movie, , settings, self-timer, etc. until you come around again and try to shut the thing down. not user friendly. also, the fact that the light bulb is right in there with the view finder pretty much blocks out the thing you are trying to photograph. ill use this camera for a while but my search will continue until i can find something a little easier to operate.

Rating: go pro wrist camera great fun
Reviewer: Jon Blessing, Sunday, July 15, 2007
Camera runs on 2 aaa batteries and doesnt seem to draw too much juice.
Lots of fun in the water. I especially like to video quality for such a small unit. The sound of bubbles hitting the case makes a static rustle, but bubbles nearby sound very cool.
Photos are ok. No flash, so underwater shots without flashlight are dark even on a bright day in the pool, and above water shots in medium to low light can blur easily. Viewfinder is tiny, and the focusing LED takes up half of it.. so I have gotten used to guessing the angle and just "shooting from the hip".
BUT consider the playful, no hassle, throw in your bag, throw in the water mentality that you acquire when using this toy. Its a good feeling. I am glad I have it.

Rating: Overall performed well, but housing needs work...
Reviewer: Shannon C., Thursday, July 05, 2007
Took camera to snorkeling in caribbean. Overall worked really well. Wrist strap very convenient. Take lots of pictures because without viewfinder its sometimes difficult aiming camera to get the shot you want. Video mode worked great. Really pleased with it. However, one of the ears broke on the case latch. Found out Gopro has had a this problem and is supposed to be making a design change on the latch system to eliminate this problem. They are replacing my case with the new design. No flash so pictures a little dark on a cloudy day or under shady areas such as piers. But, since digital you can adjust the pics on the computer. Overall, well pleased with performance and convenience.

have never seen this product locally,, price seemed adequate and had resonable good features i thought necessary,,, have not used it yet,,,the camera i think will fill a gear void,,cant give it 5 stars because i havent used it yet but would give it 3 stars for quality houseing,, adequate features,, flexability etc..it might be all the average diver needs for photos.. caution.. it does not have a flash...

Rating: Its small.
Reviewer: steve p., Wednesday, May 30, 2007
Better click a lot of shots. With out a picture review a large % might not come out all that well. I get enough that do come out that makes it worth it. Its easier to manage than the large expensive bulky cameras. I use my dive light for extra light. It is not for a photg that likes hi quality pictures.

Great Pictures underwater, The only problem is you can not use an SD card in the underwater case so you can only take 25 pics.
