Rating: Suprema Pixsea 5.0
Reviewer: David Lovejoy, Wednesday, August 06, 2008
Ive only had a chance to use the camera once. The camera is very light weight and the controls are easy to use. The visability was very poor on this dive but I was able to get some reasonably good pics in the 2-3 foot range. but, some picture were blurred because it was difficult to maintain position due to the current. Im happy with the camera so far. I cant wait to get it to the Caribbean to see how it performs under better conditions. A dtrawback is that the software that comes with the camera is not supported by MS Vista.

Bought the Suprema Pixsea for a trip to Jamaica. It came with instructions to check the u/w housing for leaks before using. I tried it out in a pool and it worked great. Takes good shots in and out of the water with and without the housing. However on my first real dive at 60 ft. the housing leaked and it never worked again. So I would reccomend for snorkeling as it worked great at shallow depths but leaked when on its first dive.

Rating: housing and camera
Reviewer: James Schnitcke, Tuesday, June 10, 2008
The camera is wonderfull and easy to use. The housing is also nice, the only problem is that there is a glare when using underwater, which makes it hard to see the display.
I also had a problem with the housing leaking, but I contacted the mfg and with in 4 days I had another housing. I would have to say that the customer service for suprema is wonderful.

the camera works as advertised, with nice picture quality. the only problem i have with it is that the switch that changes the mode from taking to viewing pictures is too short and too stiff. its not possible to change mode while in the waterproof case the slide on the case just slides over top of the switch without changing position. otherwise, its great.

Im not sure if mine was faulty but it flooded at the end at little the first time and completely the second time I used it. The pictures were good. But I will definately spend the extra money and get a better model. Good news is that scuba.com made the return process very easy. I will definately purchase more equipment from them!!!

Rating: Not bad
Reviewer: Robin Novak, Wednesday, July 16, 2008
Took way better pictures on land and was nice to know that while on the boat i didnt have to worry about it getting wet. i tried shooting while snorkeling and am not quite sure if the lack of quality was due to the poor visibility on the "dive" or the camera. will try again when i actually go somewhere where its clear.

Rating: Suprema Camera

The plastic housing at the lense leaks badly at even snorkel depth. It would flood the camera at SCUBA depth pressure. The big o-ring for the clamshell housing seems to work, at least at snorkeling depths. Camera itself takes good pictures and is easy to use.

Great snapshots from this camera. In its class I have not found a camera with a housing as stout. Software is easy to use also.
