This strap has worked well in three configurations, on a backplate and on two different manufacturers BCDs. There is a buckle that simplifies connecting to the waist band when donning your kit. Ive found it comfortable with a scooter when I use a drysuit. It left more room where it was needed and a 2" stap did not. A friend just used it with a BCD to scooter. He was not very comfortable until he switched to a 2" strap. YMMV All in all, Id recommend this for any rig subject to personal requirements. - and a crotch strap is needed in many circumstances.
