Rating: Definitely necessary for Zeagle Stilletto
Reviewer: Jonathan Seckler  -  View all my reviews
Bought for Zeagle Stiletto BCD. The Stiletto is a weight-integrated BCD but the weight pockets hold the weight in with only a threaded plastic line. If you have smaller weights or shot pouches, they will have a tendency to snag or get caught in the gaps. These pouches eliminate that and are stylishly yellow to boot!

Works just fine. Keeps your weights in one place preventing you from havjng smaller weights slip through your zeagle ripcord loops. Plus if you do dump your weights these bad boys are pretty hard to miss (yellow) .

Not necessary to have but would work great for keeping the amount of weight you need for grab and go, but you can also just easily put the weights in the bc pockets.

Rating: Great weight pouch
Reviewer: Matt Osterwyk
My wife is getting ready to take her basic open water pool class and the concern she had for her BC was taking out individual weight bags. These pouches are going to make her "job" doing so much easier!

Perfect! I bought these pouches for my travel BCD. Even though it is not a Zeagle brand, the pouches work perfectly. I have been on several trips where I envied how easy it was for other divers to remove weights while carrying gear, changing tanks, etc. Once marked, there is no doubt whose weighted pouch belongs to whom. Very convenient!

Rating: Zeagle Contoured Weight Pouch
Reviewer: Carey W.
The weight pouches are very versatile and easy to use. We dive in varied conditions from cold water using 7mm suits to warm water using skins. The pouches make it very easy to change the weights as needed. Also, since we no longer travel with our weights, the pouches make it easier to adapt our BCDs to whatever type of weights are provided by the dive operator. The zipper works great on the pouch and the pouch fits perfectly into our Zeagle BCDs. Definitely worth the purchase!

Rating: Zeagle Weight Pocket
Reviewer: Robyn B.
Not much to review- its a zipper up mesh bag to hold weights. Im giving it 3 stars because I think they should have been included when I purchased the BC. Depending on what type weights you use- no pouch may be easier - Problem is, if youre on vacation, you dont know what type weights you will be given, so the pouch is safer.

Rating: I always have an extras

I purchased these because I hate it when I leave my weight at home and the only weight the local dive shop carries is a mixture of bulk and shot bags. Now I just stuff them all in the pouch and they are ready for my ranger bc.

These pouches are great for Zeagle BCs. The contours are a perfect fit, and the zippers are rugged. A highly recommended addition!

Questions and Answers for Zeagle Contoured Weight Pouch (Each):

  • Bruce:

Can you supply the Rip cord for a Zena vest along with 2 of the 12lb weight pouches?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Bruce, the rip cord system would be a special order item since that item is no listed on our site. But yes we can get them for you.

  • Andrew:

Is the Zeagle weight pouch sold single or as a pair?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Andrew, this pouch is sold as a single. So if you need two then you would need to order two. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Cheree:

I notice the weight pouches have a weight associated with them, so if it is a 10lb pouch then it can hold up to 10lbs? Just wanted to clarify before purchasing.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Cheree, yes the size of the bag is the max weight the bag will hold.

Mesh Weight pouches for Ripcord BCs

These optional pouches make loading and unloading your weights with the Ripcord weight system even easier and can accept most any kind of soft or hard weight. A long webbing strap handle makes it easy to grab the pouch and hand it off to another person when loading or unloading your weights.

Pouches sold individually.

8042Z- 10lb capacity (intended for Ranger Jr BC)

8042- 12lb capacity (intended for Zena, LaZer, and Stiletto BCs)

8043- 18lb capacity (intended for Ranger, Ranger LTD, Tech 10, 911, SAR BCs and the Ripcord weight system addon)

Why do you put the weights in the BC?
Including the weights as part of the buoyancy system improves balance and comfort in the water- it keeps your body from being pulled in different directions by the opposing forces of lift and weights. All Zeagle BC’s since 1982 have been designed to be weight integrated.

How do you drop the weights in an emergency?
Zeagle’s patented Ripcord system allows for a single point instantaneous release of the weights from almost any position in the water. When compared to a weightbelt release or the two handed systems used on many other weight integrated BC's the Ripcord is far simpler and more reliable. Some BC's offer a more economical pull out system that requires a two sided release to drop all the weights.

Isn’t it too heavy to lift?
In most circumstances we recommend that the diver put on their BC first, then place the weights in the weight pockets. This avoids having to lift the entire scuba system and weights together.
