I am new to diving and wondering if this can be worn as a wetsuit or is it intended to go under a wetsuit. Will be diving mostly in Florida or Caribbean and dont like the bulkiness of a traditional wetsuit. Please help
Id like to order a sharkskin HECS suit. Do you carry these or can you order them?
Hello Robert, the covert suit you are looking for is the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-134/154496/SharkSkin-Covert-Electromagnetic-Stinger-Trilaminate-Front-Zip-Wetsuit.html.
Hi guys im looking for a shark skin to wear under my wetsuit , ive seen few different types of full-suits , i was wondering which one is the warmest of all thank you Simo
My wife has this wetsuit and it says size 14 on the inside. I would like to get her another one, but dont know size 14 maps to your sizing options. Please let me know.
I am trying to determine the best option for warm water diving. A pure lycra skin leaves me cold when I come back on the boat. Sometimes I just dont want to wear a 3mm wetsuit, but would like something less bulky and easy to pack in suitcase or carryon. I know nothing about the composite fabrics. Sharkskin and the Henderson 17 oz look similar but have a huge price difference. Is it worth it? What about a 1 mm wetsuit of neoprin. What would be the advantage or disadvantage of these. Thank you.
The Sharkskin products and the Henderson Superior Polyolefin suits are night and day different from each other. They do the same thing in similar conditions, but are two completely different animals. The Sharkskin or LavaCore products would be considered far superior and newer products in terms of the technology involved in them.
Hi. I just want a suit that I can swim in cold water, like 45 40 degrees. I live in maine and want to swim as long as I can this winter. The suit I just got I feel is to bulky (5mm, thats what my friend said she used, but I think she was wrong) wondering what I should use? Looking at the Sharkskin chillproof, what do you think? Thanks, Karen
Hello Karen, for swimming in that temp of water for a longer period of time yes I would suggest going with a 5mm suit. If you are looking for a thinner material and still give you some warmth would be the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-43/152122/Pinnacle-3mm-Siren-Merino-Elastiprene-Super-Stretch-Wetsuit.html. I would also suggest going with something like this also to help keep your core warmer: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-28/122589/ScubaPro-5-3mm-Hooded-Diving-Vest.html.
i have the henderson 17 oz dive skin (and love love love it), so much so that it really is wearing out (geez i have to replace my fins as i have worn them out too), but was looking at the shark skini almost never dive in my 3 mil bc the dive skin is so much more comfortable, occasional get cool, but frankly am so happy in the water rarely get bothered by it. does the added warmth of the shark skin come at a cost of comfort? i would sacrifice temp for freedom of movement. most of my diving/snorkeling is caribbean or mexico, although hope to hit the south pacific this year.
I am a female 52 about 99 pounds, 32-33 chest. I was wondering if i would wear the XS or the XXS. The chest measurements seem off for the XS but the height and waist seem good. What is your recommendation. I wear a size 4 ripcurl surf wetsuit
The 1 piece suit provides full body protection from cold, sun and marine stingers. It can be used under an existing wetsuit for extra warmth or can completely replace your wetsuit in warmer waters. It is less buoyant than neoprene so you need less weight, making you more comfortable when snorkeling or diving.
Sharkskin Chillproof is an aquatic specific, windproof 3-layer composite material that has been developed for water sports athletes.
The comfortable ‘micro fleece’ layer is next to the skin and ‘wicks’ moisture and sweat away from the body to help keep you dry. The second middle ‘technical’ layer is 100% windproof yet breathes to regulate body temperature while stopping windchill. The third outer layer is a nylon/lycra blend for abrasion resistance and 4 way stretch. It is also UV resistant for sun protection and has a durable water repellent finish (DWR) to provide a protective shell that ‘sheds’ water. Sharkskin Chillproof is neutrally buoyant, anti-microbial, odour resistant, itch resistant and machine washable.
Authentic Sharkskin garments come with a 12 month guarantee on workmanship. Excludes fading and degeneration as a result of excessive exposure to chlorine or sunlight. We guarantee Sharkskin will perform as advertised.
