i needed something to wear in warm waters to keep from getting stung by coral or things floating. but this suit...it fit so well, it was so comfortable, it was so amazing not to need sun screen because its got built into fabric-i have been buying them as gifts for all my friends who swim or run at the beach or snorkel! and then...as a diver would expect...it fits great under a thicker wetsuit.

Rating: what a huge surprisewhat a bargain!

i just returned from diving in palau. i knew i wanted to be covered-so that i wouldnt get too burned and so that i wouldnt risk getting scratched if i brushed the coral (hard as i might try not to touch it). for this price...i really thought the dive skin would be ugly and pooly made. i could not have been more wrong! it fit really well (just go with the sizing for your waist). it was easy on and off every day. i still looks like new..after several dives daily for several days. it dried quickly. and today, its washed up great as well! now, i cant imagine why im always spending so much on swim suits! this is a total bargain.

the order was processed lightening fast plus free delivery! four hours after placing the order online i received an e-mail that it was shipped. i checked tracking and it was in transit early the next day. cant ask for anything better.
i like the oceanquest lycra dive skin jumpsuit because of the front zipper. a major problem with many scuba exposure suits is being too tight around my neck. the front zipper allows me to keep it open a couple of inches at the neck so it doesnt feel too tight. im a tweener since the sizing guidelines said the medium is kinda small and the large is kinda big. too big and we defeat the purpose of the base layer so i got the medium. its really a second skin and a few lbs. heavier and a few inches taller and i would not have been able to get into it. the quality is good, the seams are rugged and its super comfortable. it provides no warmth - purely exposure protection which is fine in warmer weather it protects my skin without getting overheated. dries quickly. under my drysuit up here in the northeast i can add other layers depending on the water temperatures.

Rating: Perfect for Florida
Reviewer: Randy K., Sunday, November 06, 2011
My daughter is a Girl Scout Cadet that sailboats on a beautiful lake in Ala. Since the water is just a bit cool these days (Oct) I bought her this skin suit. She loves it, it fits just right by following the sizing directions. I would say if not sure in that regard, go the next size up. After her trip she reported it was nice but just not warm enough. So, when they advertize warm water use, they mean it. However, here in the N Fl Gulf we have a bit warmer water. I would say by season this skin suit is good here for late spring, summer, early fall.
In addition, I am thinking of buying one for myself and son. We wade fish the Gulf and encounter small stinging jellyfish. In conclusion, the skin suit is not a dive suit but for all purposes in warmer climates it cant be beat for price. BTW, Scuba.com sent it quickly and securely. They are where I will buy all my diving eq.

this suit fits really good, I used it in a pool for part of my cert and it really did what it said, however, read the tag, keep it away from velcro.

gemgem:
What mm thickness is this suit?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello, you are looking at a little over .5mm. This is a suit you would wear as a stand alone in tropical waters, sun protection, or to help get your thicker suit on easier. If you would like to order one of these, or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

looking for a lycra skin for a plus size woman sz 16 (1x) What size should I consider?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Unfortunately scuba equipment sizing (especially wetsuits and skins) and fashion sizing usually don''t follow the same mindset when it comes to fit. Using the sizing chart use your waist and bust measurements as your two most important measurements. You want a suit to fit around your torso correctly first, then use your height as a secondary measurement. That should help you get a little bit closer to finding the correct suit.
