Rating: comfortable but not much warmth
Reviewer: Robin S.,
I believe the description said this was as warm as a 2mm wetsuit. I dont believe it is. I bought this for a trip with extensive snorkeling around the Turks and Caicos in Feb. I think the water temp was about 76. I was in the water for up to 1/2 hour repeatedly throughout several days and was quite chilled, not kept warm by the suit (and FYI I do have body fat - not a "skinny" girl). It was great comfortable sun protection though. I wore it alone without a wet suit over it.

Rating: Really NICE skin
Reviewer: Suzanne Holtzclaw,
Ordered this to take on trips to have the option for additional warmth if needed or less buoyant option when it is warmer. Used it the first time as additional layer when on a snorkel tour with manatee. We were in 74 degree water (35 degree air temp) for about 4 hours. I was pretty comfortable for a very long time and give credit to adding the jumpsuit to the mix. I saw where others commented that you need to order the next larger size. I am 58" and weigh about 130lbs and got the medium. It is a little tight initially and I probably should have purchased the large. I bought my husband the 2xl. He wears a Large shirt but has issues with things tight around his neck. He was very comfortable and happy I bought the larger size - he NEVER gets cold. We are happy with our purchase and will recommend to others.

Rating: Size runs small
Reviewer: Karissa P.,
The XS is REALLY small. I am within ALL the measurements for an XS according to the sizing chart, but I couldnt breath in an XS. I exchanged it for a Small, and it is perfect. So keep that in mind when ordering sizes.

Rating: 17oz Superior Polyolefin Dive Skin Jumpsuit
Reviewer: nickolas Hobbs-Ainley,
This is a great product, very easy to put on and then easy to put on the wet suit.
I like it so much that if I ever need to buy another one I would again get the same one.
living in Spain I needed to pay tax on my item as it came from the US. however I could not find it anywhere in Europe.
the thumb loops and foot straps are so well made and are a real help when putting the wet suit on.
thanks Scuba for stocking this item, please feel free to use this letter in you promotions.
Kind regards NickSpain

Rating: liked it
Reviewer: Jacqueline Dewald,
Just returned from a 13 day trip to grand cayman and liked this dive skin- It is light and very easy to dry I wore it with a 3mm vest and was warm. The sizes are odd a large is a womans size 12. My husband ordered this suit and liked it except the seams are coming apart after 4 days. This product has some real promise, needs some quality control in order to have a lasting place in the market.

Rating: run small
Reviewer: Karen Barnett,
Ive been wearing Henderson dive suits for years, and decided to renew my suits. The size medium has gotten smaller and is now tight, so am sending back this one and have ordered a large. Dont change your sizing on those of us who have worn you for years!
thanks

works great, but dont be hesitant to order a larger size. mine is large, and it is too tight on me at 180lbs, 58-1/2", 42"chest, 36"waist. xl would be my ion. also, the torso length is short. other than that, from the waist down it fits ok.

This is my second purchase of this suit. I teach swimming and this is great for the long days in the pool. This second one is for diving only. This suit is great in cold water it adds that extra insulation without the bulk and buoyancy. Makes it much easier to get a wetsuit on and off. Ive also used it on its own in the St. Lawrence in the summer and down south in the winter. The padded spine makes it very comfortable with dive gear.

Rating: Perfect for a Caribbean summer dive trip!
Reviewer: Robin S.,
Love my new jumpsuit! We went to Saba (near St. Martin) for a week in late July and there was a strict weight limit. It helped to have a light weight alternative to my 3 ml shorty. I was very comfortable with water temps in the 80 degree range. The jumpsuit dried quickly - a big help with daily dives. A friend and I bought the same suit and found it worked well with our different body types (both women). I bought 2 sizes smaller than the guide and it was about right.
Questions and Answers for Henderson 17oz Superior Polyolefin Dive Skin Jumpsuit:
Matt:
Dear Scuba.com:
You mention this Henderson dive skin was a Scuba Lab testers choice. I have been a subscriber to Scuba Diving for years and cant find this particular test. Could you let me know what issue it was in? Im very interested in buying two of these (or perhaps lavacore) but want to read the review first.
Thanks and regards,
-Matt

Wow. That would be from when the skin first came out and was tested. Honestly, with all the changes with Scubalab over the years, we don't have any recollection of the issue that was part of.
Barry:
My wife is 5and weighs 120-125. What size for her.
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Barry, when you are sizing a wetsuit or dive skin. The 2 most important measurements are going to be you chest/bust and waist. Height is a secondary measurements and weight is the last measurements.
Lyn:
How does the flexibility of this material compare to the very stretchy Lycra?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
This is just a little thicker material but still has good stretch. As long as the item is not used in the water you have up to 60 days to refund or exchange it.
Vanessa:
I want to buy the 17oz dive skin but, having read a lot of reviews, Im confused about sizing. Some people say they run small, others say they run big. Im an American size 12, 55" tall. Which size should I get?
Thanks
Vanessa

Hello Vanessa, this is a uni-sex sizing. When you are sizing this the 2 most important measurements, height is a secondary measurement and throw weight out the window. Then you are going to want to order the SMALL size. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Sandra:
Between the Henderson and Lava core...it one warmer than the other?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The Lava Core will be warmer.
Kris:
Is the Polyolefin skin really warmer than the Lycra Hot skin? Im a snorkeler. Wont be layering. Dont want any buoyancy.
Also, sizing. I tried on a small Lycra that fit good. Would the Polyolefin fit the same? From the sizing chart here, I would fit into a XS...
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Sizing should the same, and these is definetly warmer than a regular lycra suit without added buoyancy.

How much does the Henderson 17oz polyolefin dive skin weigh? We have tight weight restrictions on an upcoming trip.
