I purchased this suit for some diving in Key West, FL. The water was a bit colder than usual (68 instead of the normal 75-78) and Im very glad I had this suit instead of 3mm shorty rental. Overall Im pleased with the suit and it seems to be well constructed. The only two minor issues I have are the back zipper seal and the sizing. Zipper seal - Donning the suit typically requires the aid of buddy because the zipper catches on the back flap seal. I can zip it up to about 4-5" below the back of my neck before it catches. This is not an issue if you have a buddy to help you but if you dont then it can be a hassle. I CAN get it zipped up without aid but it takes me a few minutes of zipping/unzipping before I have any luck and get it fully zipped up. Sizing - Im approximately 62, 195 - 200lbs, and have a 35" waist. I went with the XL suit and its not as tight or form-fitting as I was expecting it to be based on the manufacturers sizing information. Granted, I dont expect a "tailor" fit and the suit may be a little large on me because I have more of an athletic build. However, even though the suit is a little large it performed well and sealed up well preventing water from flushing in or out. Despite the zipper and sizing issue I like the suit and would definitely recommend it.

Second Akona I have purchased first one was not worn out after 3 years. Just gave it to a great divemaster in Cozumel who needed it more then I just purchased new one hope to try it soon. They fit great best wetsuit on the market for the price. Like the new design on shoulders for BC grip. Jim Kirk Captain

At the sale price I couldnt turn it down for a buddy of mine whos been diving in a flannel shirt. He needed a large suit larger than most, I guess why this one was left over, anyway it fits good and looks great and will be great Im sure. Dont know about the back zipper hanging up though that I read about from others. It didnt seem to be a problem.

This suit is a great fit and a the knees are reinforced in a great way. The construction and functionality are top notch. The styling is nice too.

Not a bad suit overall, but the interior flap that covers the zipper is a bit of a nuissance. It gets stuck in the zipper every time and makes it quite a hassle to put on.
