The jacket has a great fit a d is light weight. It was perfect for snorking in warmer water. I ordered the jacket for warmth, sun protection on back, protection from stinging coral and extra buoyancy. It was great!

I am a swimmer and I tend to get cold, but I also need lots of flexibility! This vest is perfect for both! It fits great and has enough thickness-3ml-to keep me warm! Not to mention that it is stylish,as well! Streamlined and I love the color! Nothing wrong with comfort and fashion while youre swimming!! Thanks,Body Glove!!

Rating: just what I needed
Reviewer: Jevan W., - View all my reviews
This was exactly what I needed. This year I damaged my rotator cuff and was really concerned about swimming off our boat. It has givenm me the boyancy I needed in case it went again was swimming in over 20 feet of water. I was using a shorty however it was a real pain getting in and out of it all the time. This vest is so easy to take on and off. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rating: great Caribbean vest
Reviewer: sarah b.,
I just came back from a weeks diving on Little Cayman and wore this vest for nearly every dive. I always use a full skin, so the vest and skin made a perfect combination. Even on the 4th dive of the day, I never got cold. I had to return the first one for a size larger, so order up.

Rating: Just what the doctor ordered
Reviewer: Benjamin Kim,
Diving in the cold Pacific Ocean of the Southern California is not enjoyable when youre cold. I bought this extra vest just for this reason. Mind you that it doesnt help during the winter season, but it doesnt hurt to have it on as long as you stay shallow. In all other seasons, its not necessary unless you go deeper than the thermocline or dive at night. This is a great buy for the price, and it helps keep my hood in place by tucking it under. Very useful.

Rating: Front Zip Vest for Warmth
Reviewer: Judith J.,
I just returned from a diving trip in Indonesia and began using the front zip vest after the first few days of diving. Worn under a 3mm wet suit, it added just enough warmth to enable me to stay down comfortably for 60+ minutes. The vest fit me well and it also fit under the wet suit without feeling bulky. I tend to get cold toward the end of a dive, especially on a multidive day, and the vest helped me stay warm. Ill definitely take it with me on my next trip.

Rating: 3mm barriere front zip body glove vest
Reviewer: Regina B.,
The web page was easy to use and ordering from there was simple as well. When reviewing the sizes, however, it only mentioned weight and bust size. I followed that in order to get the right size which said it would have been an XL. When I got it the size was actually at 10-12. The wet suit I just purchased was a 14. So I had to send it back as it was to small. The return was just as simple as the ordering. I was impressed with the way the entire transaction was handled and would certainly deal with Scuba.com in the future.

Questions and Answers for Body Glove 3mm Barrier Front Zip Wetsuit Vest:
Mary:
Hi. I want to buy this vest but I am a size 14. The comment section indicated your XL would be too small. Can you advise me maybe on one of the mens sizes or a comparable product in the same price range? Thanks
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The chest and waist measurements are the most important and can be used to fit a woman into a man's size.
Kb:
Can this vest or others similar to this be used in place of a life vest/jacket? Thanks.
Greg (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
No, this vest cannot be used as a life jacket. The Body Glove 3mm vest is to provide a measure of warmth and environmental protection. Life Jackets need to be USCG approved.
Priscilla:
I really like this vest and wonder if it has enough stretch for my bust of a 40C. ordering the XL size. I want to use it for snorkleing in Hawaiian waters in a month. Time frame from Oct thru December. Do you think it will fit me? I would also like to order wet suit shorts, too
Thanks Priscilla PS I am a 66 y/o female
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Priscilla, yes you would be good in the women XLarge. If you want a few more inches to play with take a look at the men large sizing I think that would work a little better for you. As for the shorts I would suggest the Neosport by Henderson 1.5mm XSPAN Super-Stretch Wetsuit Shorts web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-43/148911/Neosport-by-Henderson-1.5mm-XSPAN-Super-Stretch-Wetsuit-Shorts.html. im looking at this vest to wear with nothing under it. do i go a size smaller? im a dude with a 39.5 chest, 510" and 175lbs. thx!
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Stefan, the size that I would suggest for you is the size medium.
Julie:
Hello, my son has to swim a lot of laps in a cold pool as part of a sportsteam. He is 10, can you recommend some kind of fleece top or jacket that would not make him too bouyant?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
I swim in my community pool every day. Once summer is gone it starts getting cool. Is a body glove (front zipper) vest your recommendation? I looked at 6% short sleeve Rash Guard too.
Im 185 Lbs and my chest is 42 but my waist (middle) is 44. Im 5" 11" Would a XLarge Short or 2Xlarge short be most comfortable?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The sizing charts show all the sizes for all the products made by each manufacturer. Not all products are made in all sizes. Such is the case with the vests. They are not made in the "short" or "long" sizing as they are open at the bottom of the torso. With your given dimesnions, you are going to be looking at the XL sizing.
Jeanette:
Waist - 35"
Bust - 41 "
Height - 54"
Will the womens XL fit me?
Greg (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The Women's XL might be a little on the small side for you. You might also cinsider and Men's Large.
Forrest:
To: Cert. Instr Bob: Further response to my earlier question "I swim ..."
You recommended XL size. Should I order a 2XL as well so I can be sure and get the best fit? Second, what 6% short sleeve Rash Guard size would be a comparable size for me?
Im going to order both Body Glove Vests and Rash Guards. Just want to sure on the sizing.
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Forrest, when you are sizing items like this. The two most important measurements are going to be your chest and waist. Height is a secondary measurements and weight you throw out the window.
Mike:
How much buoyancy does you zip up vests have? Looking at the 2 and 3m
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Unfortunately there is no calculation available for the amount of positive buoyancy the vests provide.
sally:
i swim in a cold pool. my current EVO 2mm wet suit vest deteriorated after about 5 months in the pool. will this vest hold up longer than 5 months? also, i have a 34 inch chest, i am 54" and i weight about 125. what size, in womens, should i purchase.
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The waist and chest are the most important measurements for the fit with a vest. Unfortunately, chlorine is very hard on the wetsuit material. Rinsing with freshwater as soon as you get out of the pool will help.
Mary:
Body glove has no chest or waist measurements guidelines for this vest - only weight and height ? ! Help !
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Weight will be the most important then. If you have worn a wetsuit before you can order the same size.
