Easy use of scuba.com website. Shipping was prompt. Though I went to purchase a BC for my wife. The sizing chart for aqua lung runs a little on the larger side. The BC is a nice quality product. I had to ship it back for the next size down. Other than that I have no complaints.

my wife struggled to find the right bcd for quite some time. after trying several recommended styles and brands, she ed the seaquest pearl because of its "made-for-a-woman" design. the integrated chest support offered a comfort level that all others simply dont have yet. this bcd is made for a woman. the integrated weights and high quality full vest features are well worth the bargain price of this device. were off to roatan and the caymans this year and shell be diving with the assurance that shes got the right bc for her. no more cumbersome weight belts and "tourist" bcs that dont quite fit right. recommend.

this is by far the most awesome bc i have ever owned! my previous bc had an integrated weight system however, the pockets were velcro, and i was constantly "losing them" when the velcro wore out. this system has the "locking mechanisim", and is wonderful! also, there are two weight "pockets" in the back of the bc, for added "balance", as the air in the tank is depleted. i could say more, but suffice it to say, this is a great bc for the money!!

Questions and Answers for Aqua Lung SeaQuest Pearl Womens BC:

  • Rachael:

Hello, I am a PADI Instructor looking for a quality BCD that is easy to travel with and good to teach in. Good to teach in is key, I want it to have all the same style attaches/ inflators/ deflators etc. as students would use on a shop BCD. I want to hear from instructors who have used this BCD. How has it worked for you?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

For the most part, continuity in scuba manufacturing means that the vast majority of recreational scuba gear has components in the same place, with the same functions. This is done on purpose for convenience as much as safety. Unless you go with a product with the I3 inflator system or the Mares Airtrim system, you won''t have any concern for students understanding and recognizing your gear and it''s functions.

  • Dana:

I am new to diving, and want to get my first BCD and want to get a good quality one to start with, I have heard that the Pearl is up there but not top of the line. Now this may be a dumb question, but do new BCDs come with a Low Pressure inflator hose, or do I have to buy that separately? Thanks

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

New BCDs will have the low pressure inflator hose included. This is a great BCD for the new diver.

  • Diane:

Does anyone know the approximate weight of the Pearl or Pearl i3

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    Just under 8 lbs.

  • Christy:

A fellow woman diver bought this bc and says she has difficulty with the lower portion which contains the weight pokes shifts front and back. I was considering this bc but am weary after hearing her complaint. Thoughts?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Christy, the only reason I can think of that the weight would shift in the pockets is that there are only a few weight in pocket that there is room for it to shift around while you are underwater. Instead of having large weights in the pockets. I would suggest putting smaller weights that will equal the total.
