The new octopus holder replaced the old "scum" ball that I used when frequently caused my alternate air to free flow. I havent had that problem since I switched. If I need my alternate it is quickly and easily removed.

Is doing the job of holding the octopus in place, and most of the time keeps unwanted stuff from getting into the reg. Testing hard after few beach dives entering in the water with big waves, and being rolled and tumbled 3 times. I appreciate the fact that it hold my octo firmly in place , even after my snorkel and my weight belt were gone.The only negative : When you disengage the side "wings/tabs" create a lot of stress/stretch on the rubber mouth piece (little bite tabs)and it will probably tear apart the mouth piece with time/repetitive releases...Good material/quality otherwise.

I recently got a new BC and decided it was also a good time to get a new octopus holder. Trying to figure out which one to get (didn’t like my old one so that eliminated one) was not east by just reading descriptions and looking at pictures.
I finally decided that I would try the Innovative Octopus Holder and I am so glad I did. It holds my octo firmly in place and keeps any unwanted crud from getting into the regulator. The most important to me is it easy to use even with heavy dive gloves (5mm).
Great find and I have bought two more to use during storage of m gear to keep both regulators free of any unwanted debris.

Hangs on to the Octopus well. Very easy to attach it... at least it seems a lot easier than stuffing the mouthpiece into the other type of holder. A friend said they would recommend the necklace octo holder more. Luckily, Ive never had to have it pulled away from me.

These are so much better than the regular holders. No more squeezing your regulator mouthpiece and having it fall out in the middle of a dive. It releases easily, and keeps your second firmly in place! I would highly recommend, and you cant beat the price
