Hello I need some opinions and advice on regulators I have the chance to buy a used reg from a friend it is a zeagle flathead 6 bought in 08 has less than 20 dives on it serviced 14 months ago with no more dives on it for $240.00 or I was thinking of buying a new zeagle onyx cw din I know the fhead 6 is an old model but has it changed that much to the fhead 7? or is the onyx a better built/design since it is newer. In short which reg is superior for the things considered here and which would you buy

Hello Dave, I would suggest going with the newer reg that will have a warranty attached to it. Where as the warranty with your friends regulator will go away when you buy it from him. But both regulators are very reg's you cant go wrong with either one.
The Onyx regulator outperforms many, much more expensive regulators with outstanding reputations - why? Among many reasons, two stand out:
The internal structure allows direct airflow through the 1st stage, providing lower turbulence for outstanding performance. Zeagle’s conical precision high-pressure valve provides much greater reliability and service life compared to conventional designs, while improving responsiveness and performance at all breathing rates. The braided LP hose provides high flow and tremendous abrasion resistance while having great flexibility. The compact exhaust tee, advanced black satin chrome finish and light weight construction give the Onyx a beautiful presence.
Work of breathing at heavy* demand: 0.95 Joule/Liter *198 (60M) depth, 750 psi inlet, 62.5 RMV (liters per minute respiratory volume)
Like all Zeagle regulators, The Onyx comes factory ready for use with EAN/ NITROX to 40% O2.
