Rating: The new UK mini Q40 L.E.D. light is a must have.
Reviewer: Justin Poulos, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
The new UK mini Q40 L.E.D. light is a must have. The L.E.D. feature significantly extends the battery life while eliminating the need for bulb replacements. Also, not only does it provide excellent illumination but allows you to attach it to your mask thus providing hands free, backup light use. This is even a great light to have during the day incase you want to check out a small cave or overhang. And since it is attached to your mask I just leave it on there day or night.

Rating: Great light!
Reviewer: Paul Dean, Wednesday, July 04, 2007 - View all my reviews
This light has a very nice dispersed beam for a small light. It is many times superior to the standard bulb version of this light, and in clear water can be used as a primary light. My one complaint with UK lights in general is the lanyard attachment. The point of attachment on this light it such that if you let it dangle, it bobbles all over and is likely to blind you or your dive buddy. Why not design it to point strait down when dangling??

Rating: Id buy it again.
Reviewer: Jeffrey Johnson, Monday, November 27, 2006
Reading some of the other reviews for this light, I got the impression some customers were expecting a stadium flood light. Its obviously not that. But it is amazingly bright for its size. It is small enough to be easy to bring with you (at one point, I forgot that I had it with me.) Ive only taken it to 40 ft depth, where it worked like a champ. My instructor, who has much more experience than I, said he likes it, too.

Great secondary light. I tested it last week in while diving in the Yucatan cenotes and the light was much more focused and brighter than the primary lights that the other divers had. Only my UK Light Cannon and the DMs canister light rig gave off brighter light. The range was excellent for a small secondary light.
I did 16 dives in 5 days and left the light in one of my BC pockets. It did not flood.

Rating: Very cool light
Reviewer: Donald Wistrom, Friday, August 10, 2007 - View all my reviews
When I ordered this lamp I was skeptical. It suprised me! Extremely bright for a small light. I am buying another 2 to put in my cars. 50% brighter than a 3 cell Maglight but 1/4 the size. EXCELLENT VALUE!! As a dive lamp I would keep as a third backup light or daytime light to look under rocks, wrecks, etc.. LEDs are tough cookies, no bulbs to break.

Rating: Excellent Level of brightness
Reviewer: Michael Head, Wednesday, September 20, 2006 - View all my reviews
This little guy provides an amazing amount of light, and runs on 4 simple AA batteries. If the waters are calm at the surface, attaching to the mask provides hands-free use for divers who get uncomfortable if they dont have free use of both hands throughout the dive.
Excellent quality product, and again Scuba.coms value cant be beat.

Rating: Nice little backup
Reviewer: Craig L., Thursday, February 22, 2007 - View all my reviews
This is a great little backup light that was more than adequate as a primary lite to see the little critters on a caribbean night dive. Some were concerned that with the twist on off mechanism that the light could flood. I did not have that concern as the amount of twisting to operate the on off feature is very minor

Rating: Bright Light
Reviewer: Tracey C., Thursday, July 26, 2007 - View all my reviews
I recently purchased the Mini Q40e LED. I recommend buying it in a lighter color (I purhcased blue to match gear and had a difficult time seeing it in my gear bag). The light is VERY bright!! I used in in a local spring, which helped my visibility considerably. I recommend this to anyone looking for a bright light.

Rating: Good light!
Reviewer: Dereck Martin, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
For being such a small package and great price, it is a good backup light. I dive in the Pacific Northwest and rely on a light on most of my dives, but this light really doesnt do much when youre underwater unless its completely dark. Take it for what it is - a good backup light!

Rating: Q40 is water tight
Reviewer: Daniel Phillips, Wednesday, October 18, 2006 - View all my reviews
Took down on dive to 100 plus feet. Did not use it, however because it turns on by twisting bezel I was worried about salt water seeping into the body and wrecking the batteries. I am happy to say that the light came up dry and ready to be used. Maybe next trip.

Rating: Great flash light

I already had a halogen unit but this one has much better color and lasts considerably longer. I hang it on a retractor on my BC and conveniently use it for searching for the tiny critters hiding in gorgonians and anemones. Much nicer for the better LED color.

Rating: Much brighter than before
Reviewer: Josh Collins, Friday, July 20, 2007 - View all my reviews
The new style of this light is much brighter than the previous model. One drawback is that it didnt come with the mask mounting straps, so I just electrical-taped it and has held up fine. Very bright for its size, and you dont notice that its there.

This light is able to attach to your mask strap for a hands-free illumination of whatever you look at. Great for night and cavern diving. The LED uses so little energy the batteries seem to last forever...

Rating: Good mask light
Reviewer: John Johnston, Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - View all my reviews
This is a good lightweight light for attaching to a mask for hands-free use. The white LED makes for good close-in illumination. I did find it to be a bit distracting at night when mask-mounted.

Rating: just okay
Reviewer: Merle L., Friday, April 27, 2007
I was a bit disappointed in the amount of light it cast in overhangs and under ledges, but did work fine, very light, easy to use, easy to store and carry. No problem with the twist activator.

i have the original 1 watt q40 e.led. i expected the 2 watt model to be brighter sadly, it seemed a little less bright. it is still a good mask mounted light and a good value.

it does exactly what it is suppose to light and compact- the only thing i would have preferred is an actual switch/boton rather than the screwing action for turning it on or off.

I have dove with this light 5 times now and it is great. It looks like a HID headlight above and below the surface, so far no problems with the underwater seal up to 80ft.

This is even brighter than the old Q40 I had for years, which had the halogen bulb. Very impressed on how bright it is with the L.E.D. bulb, plus a longer battery life.
