Rating: Quick Rust!
Reviewer: ANTHONY T., Thursday, August 27, 2009
I had purchased the stainless steel knife with the idea that it would last me years. To my surprise, I took it on one dive in the Gulf. Never took it out of its sheath. The next morning the knife had rust all over it. I was completely dissatisfied with the fact that it rusted so quickly.

Rating: rusty stainless

The knife looks and feels good but you should keep it dry. I rinsed after my last dive but I should have dried it off and out of the case until it dried because a day later when I took it out of the case it had a lot of rust.

Rating: Good looking Knife

very good looking knife, blade very sharp at delivery, like the ease of locking and unlocking knife from sheath, the handle end nut was a little loose put some lock tight and re-hand tightened - seems to be better, also comes with the two straps for wearing on ankle or where ever.

Rating: Very pleased
Reviewer: Kevin Kiss, Saturday, May 09, 2009
Purchased this knife on sale from scuba.com - Not too large but large enough to be truely a useful tool. Razor sharp out of the box. Have dived with it twice. With a post dive rinse and dry it has some very slight rust staining but nothing that I wouldnt expect from a mid to upper-mid quality steel. Id but it again.

Rating: SS Dive Knife
Reviewer: Steve J., Monday, April 20, 2009
It is a great knife. Snorkeled in Key Largo with it. Knife needs to be protected completely with oil or silicone before it goes out in to the water otherwise it will spot rust rather quick. Make sure you remove the handle before protecting it. Also check to make sure you have both straps before you go out. Mine was shipped with only 1 strap. Luckily there are dive shops all over & the spare straps are cheap. About $5-. All in all though, the product is good & the price from scuba.com is great compared to other places.

Rating: Locking mechanism is weak
Reviewer: John W., Sunday, March 15, 2009 - View all my reviews
the knife is very good for the price.
the scabbard has easily adjustable leg straps.
but, the knife locking tabs on the scabbard are weak and easily allow the knive to or slide out of the scabbard.
i will be returning this knife for a replacement or a refund.

Rating: no great, but good for the price

I got 4 or 5 rust spots on it after my first 2 dives in salt water. The straps didnt stay very tight until I pulled them tight and then tied them. The rust spots cleaned off after I cleaned it. So compared to an expensive titanium knife, for the price Id buy it again.

Scuba Stainless Steel Dive Knife is sharp and practical, I have used it in fresh water only at this point. I just it to cut away fishing line that can cause a problem when diving in fresh water lakes also with the locking sheath which are safe with there locking system.
