These gloves have fingertips in them. They are not open on the end. I use them to snorkel and body surf in the Pacific. I am pleased with the overall performance. They are not super warm being only 2 mm but do keep my hands warm for a couple of hours. The gloves are flexible enough for me to pick objects up off the bottom. I can really swim fast with these on. I do have some abraisions on these gloves already, but for the price they are good quality. I will buy another pair when these wear out. and I will buy them from scuba.com

I live on an island in the pacific and use these gloves 4-5 times a week! So far these gloves do what they are ment to do. I use them to paddle into waves, better control while S.C.U.B.A and strength training for Search and Rescue swimming. So far I find them very helpfull and the dexterity is great. These gloves will take some time to get use to due to the added resitance encoutered. Stick with it because it will be worth it!

I purchased a pair of these for myself, then the rest of my family. The gloves are 2 mm so they are not super warm. I body surf and snorkel in the Pacific Ocean. For swimming they are great. lots of power to catch the waves or swim down and grab a crab off the bottom. I do have some abrasions on my gloves already, but for the price they are very good.

Last year I bought a pair of these that were made of a thinner material and thus were a bit more roomy. The manufacturer is now using a less flexible material that is a little thicker and the gloves fit more snugly than the previous style - same size but tighter fit. So you might want to order a size larger than you would normally.

These are absolutely wonderful for snorkeling or diving. They make it almost effortless to maneuver through almost all currents of water! They are also thin and flexible enough for you to be able to pick up or move objects or even operate an underwater camera. We have bought 3 pairs so far and recommend them to all our friends.

These dont feel like theyre doing much at first, but when you take them off youll wonder how you ever swam without them. I estimate they add 30% to the power of certain strokes. They also help strengthen the exact muscles you want toned for stronger strokes. I use them for everything- including surfing. Best 12 bucks ever.

I am a paraplegic Diver. I must use my hands and arms to propel myself under water. I have been using these all over the world on every dive. I will be ordering more as I keep using them up. I would really like to see some thicker gloves like 5 mm for colder waters. Thanks Jim

you get a small thrust advantage, but, gloves are cold due to inproper fitand hands tire easy from being forced to remain spred fingered posture. i will not recommend them to anyone. the worst is shipping is worth more than the gloves so a return is pointless.

I am recovering from a knee operation and have not yet been able to use the gloves, but they are much heavier and stiffer and less like regular gloves that I had imagined and I only hope that indeed I shall be able to swim with them!

These gloves are a perfect fit, no changing these. Webbed gloves are perfect for the kind of exersise and lap swimming I do in my cold pool. gives me more resistance, which of course is the purpose of the webs.
