This is an excellent hood for diving in the Great Lakes from late spring to early fall. Despite the tickness it is very comfortable and flexible. The hood vents trapped air through to exits in the top and the zipper is very easy for one person manipulate. The hood only leaves a very minimal area of the face exposed and has smooths seals around the face and neck. There is very little water exchange. I have been diving for 14 years and have owned 3 other hoods. This is the best one so far and was the least expensive.

Im a 55" woman and ordered a size medium (figuring the hood would run to mens sizing...I wear a mens medium in shirts and other gear). It was so tight I could barely breathe...so I returned it for a size XXL, which is STILL just plain too tight. I wonder if this is a piece of childs gear thats been mislabeled...? The XXL they sent me might fit a 12-year-old girl. Its thick fabric and well made, though.

Through no fault of its own, I do not use this hood. I have not been able to find a thick "off the rack" hood of any brand that fit me properly around the throat region. I wound up having to purchase a custom fitted hood that finally worked.

If you go with this hood, you want to go a size larger than normal as it fits small. The face needs to be severely trimmed as well. I ended up buying a henderson 7/5 titanium hood, that fits a lot better.

This reasonably price hood is easy to pull on and off due to the zipper on the back. For everyone that has struggled and stretched their head and neck with a zipperless hood...this hood is a must!

Great hood! 1. easy to get into. 2. snug but not too tight to cut off circulation. 3. keeps water out. 4. warm even in 50 degree water. 5. durable. All around great hood.
