I had been searching in vain for a pair of 5mm kevlar gloves with a NON-elastic wrist strap, to replace an old pair of Deep Sea kevlar gloves with holes. I finally found these, and was not disappointed with their quality, fit and warmth. These should last a good long time!

Questions and Answers for Aqua Lung. 5mm Thermocline Kevlar Dive Gloves:

  • Jay:

Whenever I buy work gloves or winter gloves, medium is best fit. My weight and height specs fall under large in Size chart. Should I by medium or Large size gloves?

    Elliott  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Jay, Normally the sizing charts from manufacturer''s help dictate what will fit in a particular piece of scuba gear. In the case of hoods, or in this case gloves, one should generally select a size that they are accustomed to wearing from any other clothing/apparel sector (e.g., you stated that your work gloves/winter gloves are a Medium).

  • Richard:

11209 Doing some deep dives & temps will be in high 30s. Didnt see temp rating . Will these be warm enough.

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

In temps like that you would want a 7mm glove.

  • Will:

Does the kevlar stick to velcro like neoprene does? Im trying to find gloves with fingers that wont stick to the velcro on my thigh pockets.

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Will, no the kevlar will not stick to the velcro strap.

The Thermocline Glove is made with pre-bent fingers to match the natural shape of your hand for an ergonomic fit.  The glove keeps your hands warm, with glued and blind-stitched seams to minimize water exchange.  The ergonomic pre-curved fingers and ribbed glove-back work together to eliminate hand fatigue which is essential when scuba diving.  The Wrist cinch closure to minimize water exchange and heat loss.  These gloves are also packaged in a reusable mesh bag.
