But 5mm gloves are not very practical to use. Love 3mm though.

My 7 year old granddaughter has a terminal illness where in if her hands get too cold she could loose her fingers. We would be using the gloves to swim in the pool which is extremely dangerous for her. We are willing to try anything to help her. It sounds like you are on the right track. The only problem is I don''t know if I have enough information to give you the correct answer. Cold is relative. The 5mm glove is warm enough to keep a diver warm in temperatures as cold as 40 degrees. But that would be a person that does not have that ailment and can tolerate the cold. As far as the fit goes, that''s impossible to say without more information. I know this sounds odd, but often times a person''s hand size and foot size go one with another. The XS glove size generally fits a person who would wear a Ladies 6 or 7 shoes size.
