Questions and Answers for Waterproof 5mm G1 5 Finger Semi Dry Diving Gloves.:

  • Tony:

I would be using these when metal detectng in the Great Lakes during cold water conditions. Temp. 32-40 degrees. My hands are only exposed to the water when retrieving objects from the scoop,Will these gloves keep my hands warm and dry. Thank you

Aaron  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hi Tony, The company''s name is Waterproof, the gloves are neoprene. Your hands will get wet.

  • mike:

I am a public safety diver in the Northeast and was wondering how these would be in 32deg water?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Mike, if you need movement in your fingers then yes these will work for you. If you are not moving your fingers a lot then I would suggest a 7mm for that temp. of water.

  • Jessie:

If anyone has actually worn these, and can help, I would appreciate it. Considering this, or some other cold weather glove, for using while working to tag manatees. Yes, its in Florida (and like areas), however, a medical condition affecting circulation requires either a way to keep the hands warm while having to get in the water in winter months (or anywhere "cold"), or, find a new career. After 25 years, this career isnt being tossed aside. So...any help is appreciated. Thank you. (Imagine havent to manipulate a seat belt buckle on a car, and being able to feel and operate the button). Thanks.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jessie, the glove that I would suggest for you would be the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-27/121121/ScubaPro-Easydon-Dry-Diving-Gloves.html. These glove will give you the dex you need to tag the Manatees and keep your hands dry to help keep you warmer.

  • Samuelson:

I am going into the commercial divers program in Seattle and was wondering if these gloves will work out for me. Keep my hands warm and have good moving.

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This is a good choice. you wouldn''t want a 7mm because of the dexterity issues and these gloves are preformed and have ridges to help with movement.

  • Jordan:

How do these gloves fit? I cant find a sizing chart..

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

They fit similar to most of the scuba glove manufacturers.

This stylish glove features a glide skin interior and a long zipper for easy donning. Polyurethane embossed section in the palm provides a non-slip grip and abrasion protection. The Glove-grip makes it a lot easier to put on the second glove.

Hypothermia vs Gloves.
The body reacts to cold and heat by adjusting the blood stream to the external parts of the body, like hands, fingers and feet. “White Fingers” is a common condition and a proof for this ability to direct the blood flow. If you add restriction and squeeze into the equation those conditions can be worsened. Waterproofs G1 Glove series is constructed with all that knowledge in mind. Better fit, enhanced movability, less restriction and squeeze. All in one Glove
