Rating: My second purchase!
Reviewer: Linda Chilton, Saturday, March 14, 2009
I highly recommend this roller duffel. I have had mine on two dive trips to the Carribean and found it to be extremely easy to use. The telescoping handle moves very easy, is very sturdy and it is very balanced so it does not top over when rolling over uneven surface. It packs well and holds a lot of gear. My dive buddy was so impressed with mine that I recently purchased another as a gift for him. We are taking them to Bonaire in April. I also recommend the matching small carry-on bag, it also holds a lot of gear, lots of compartments and fits nicely on the roller duffel over the handle when it is extended.

Rating: Its OK but...

I bought this bag based on the glowing recommendations on this web site and my previous experience with XS Scuba products. While there really isnt anything wrong with the bag, there are a number of things that would have lead me to purchase another bag instead of this one.
1. The zippers are not very flexible and take a lot of effort to manipulate even after using zipper lubricant.
2. The back plate and the extension handle rails are visible thru the open duffel. The back plate is a little flimsy and its exposed to water from damp gear.
3. I had a hard time fitting in a 5mm wetsuit, BCD, mask, fins, etc for a temperate water dive. Outside fin pockets would have been nice.
4. I do like the wheels as they travel well even over slightly rough surfaces.
The bag is OK and I dont want to convey any shoddy workmanship, but I did expect better from XS Scuba. Ill probably order a larger Akona bag before I travel by air.

Rating: One Tall Order
Reviewer: Leisa C., Sunday, January 14, 2007
My Husband and I were skeptacle about purchasing a "roller" bag because of the fact that he is tall and has a hard time with handles being too short. This bag has a handle that is perfect for him because the handle seems to be longer and more comfortable than most. It is very roomy with enough space for two sets of gear.

Was able to put all of my dive gear with plenty of room. Going to Hawaii and threw in extra 7/5mm wetsuit - no problem. Compared to last bag, htis bag is more streamlined and still will hold all my gear. Wheels were great.

Rating: scuba roller bag, the perfect tropical travel bag.
Reviewer: derek dalessandro, Thursday, December 07, 2006 - View all my reviews
I was thanking the bag several times during the trip in the airports and hotels. The bag is big enough to fit longer fins like mares volo power and two sets of tropical gear. The hard bottom makes rolling it with your other bags easy and it travels well on uneven surfaces with the bigger wheels. Becuase of the hard bottom it is not for use on a boat unless it is empty and you might have problems fitting into a diveshop locker so it will not replace your wet bags.

Rating: XS Scuba Roller Duffel BG-140
Reviewer: Stephen E Linzel, Friday, October 27, 2006
This has proven to be the perfect bag for me. Large enough to get all my gear in and small enough to bring on a boat without upsetting people that I am taking up too much space. I liked my first one enough that I purchased an additional one for my daughter.

Appears to be tough and durable, quality materials. Large enough to hold 1 set of gear just fine, wouldnt try two unless you left the BCs out or something.

It is as described, well made and portable. I havent usedit yet but the wheels are sturdy and it is large enough to fit what I needed into it but not as bulky as a duffle.
