I loved this bag. I just wish the handle on top of the bag would stay down when it has clothes in it. I dont know if it got bent during flight or if it is how it is made, but I am disappointed it isnt a more sturdy handle.

Rating: This bag works
Reviewer: Joel N.
I returned an Oceanic Premier 2 and bought the XS Xcuba at the advice of one of the divers at scuba.com who uses his bag weekly with no problems. All my equipment is XL and this bag holds everthing I need. Ive talked to several people who own this bag and they all give it high remarks. So far, so good. I recommend this bag.

Rating: Great Quality and Plenty of Room (2 Sets) For Sure!!
Reviewer: Charlene S.
This bag will not disappoint you. I love the zippers - very smooth and durable. The space is amazing. The handle and the wheels are great for my back. No more duffel bags for me. There is a handle on the bottom so you have something to hold on to when you are loading and unloading your gear. Plenty of compartments for organizing your stuff. Hope this helps.

Rating: Initial Disappointment
Reviewer: david b.
I read the rave reviews on this bag and was excited about finally having the ultimate dive bag that could hold all the gear in one bag. I used it on 1 trip and when I returned home the main compartment zipper broke apart. Maybe this was just a bad production unit and I am asking for the bag to be replaced and give it another try. I do not know how it could hold 2 sets of gear and still be within 50 lb limit. I had one set (including fins and a 3 mm full suit) and it weighed in at 46 pounds - which is great for me, but just what was stated in some of the reviews. It is slightly annoying that the bag does not stand straight and study when packed. The extension handle is sturdy and the only way to lift the bag. There is a bottom grap bar, but not handy. They should have considered mfg with grab handle(s) on the top or side. This would also allow to put the airline bag tag if checking the bag - only place to put the airline tag is over the extension handle. The reg accessory bag is great. The other downside to the main bag is the external pocket for the reg bag - it is puffed out and if you put the reg bag in it, the bag topples over. Again, I am disappointment - bag did not meet expectations based on some pretty good research (unless the marketing personnel are writing all the comments). I purchased it in good faith and unless the replacement bag is also defective (as my original purchase) I will do my best to use the bag despite its limitations and over-rating.

i use this for boat and for pool session work. it has an internal strap for holding a tank, but ive found that doesnt really work all that well in practical application. overall i have found it to be a pretty useful tool for my gear. plenty of room for lots of stuff. typically i have a bcd, a ion of different wetsuits/hoods/gloves depending on conditions and depths. the outer pocket shape matched for the regulator bag i have found works well for lights and other smaller items that are commonly used on dives.

Rating: Great Bag!
Reviewer: Ashley M.  -  View all my reviews
I ordered this for my wifes B-day present, and didnt know I would be helping myself out as well. This bag is large enough for both our gear (warm-water) the fin pockets on the side do hold a pair of fins per pocket. the large front pocket has a padded case that fits inside of it for your regs (one set only), and inside this case is a place designed for your console, which is padded as well. if you need to use this pocket, thats fine because the case comes with its own shoulder strap, and is made of the same denier nylon as the bag. The mesh watter bottle pocket folds inside the bag, with the bottle still in the pocket! I also added the piggy back duffle, and am so glad I did, now we have somewhere to put dry clothes, and it will keep them dry. Inside the main compartment of the large roller bag are two straps for adding mask bags which are sold seperately at this time. I suggest getting them, you can attach two of these bags. (maybe your own extra, or your buddys mask). The wheels are very strong, not the wimpy ones like I have seen on other bags. I wouldnt suggest using the packpack feature unless you are really physically fit due to if you loaded this bag down completely it is going to be HUGE! Your chiropractor would love the new boat you will buy him. The backpack straps tuck inside their own compartment, so they will never be an issue for entanglement. The bag has handles at the top and bottom, so if two people need to load it on a boat, no problem. the bars for the fold away handle seem very strong, and they lock in the down position, which is a big plus to me. All in all this is a great bag, and I feel we will get years of use out of it.

Rating: Rolling easy.
Reviewer: Brian Olson Instructor
This is the bag to go with. The wheels on this bag allow it to roll over some pretty heavy terrain and the backpack straps allow it to become airborne for even better mobility over heavy ground. The hands free travel option here is critical when traveling off the beaten path and gives a traveler the edge over other luggage - especially on boats or on the water-front. It is lightweight, rugged and easily carries equipment for two divers exploring a warm water destination. For an adventurer on the move, this is an inexpensive way to carry all the gear you need.

The case itself is fantastic and my husband loves it. The wheels were broken during shipping but we took it to a certified shop and it was repaired like new, you cant tell the difference.

Questions and Answers for XS Scuba Roller Backpack Bag:

  • jake:

How padded is it? what is the protection for your scuba gear in the bag? i do a lot of traveling and i dont want my gear to break.

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Any of the bags designed for scuba gear are fairly well padded and designed to hold dry or wet gear. The denier on the material tells you how heavy duty or thick the material is on the bag. 1000 to 1200 is very durable, but will be weigh more. This bag is one of the more durable.
