Rating: More than I expected
Reviewer: Joshua Roberson,
This bag is much more than I expected. It is solidly built and with the "plate" in the bottom I could put my tank in the bag also without an issue along with everything else (I dont have a wetsuit) needed for diving. This bag would be big enough for a long weekend of diving with all my gear and all my clothes if I took the tank out of it. Im curious how it will hold up to travel, soon to find out.

Rating: Best bag for the money!
Reviewer: Dawn Wheeler,
We bought this bag right before our 2 week trip to Bonaire. We had some sort of cheap bag that we used for a quick trip to Catalina and that was disastrous! One of the wheels broke right away and we ended up dragging that damn bag for the rest of the weekend. This akona bag holds both of our equipment and gear no problem and has now been through the airport 4 times and still functions well. Money well spent!

Rating: Too big to be practical
Reviewer: David W., - View all my reviews
Very nice dive bag but too big. While it stores most of my and my wifes gear, its hard to go thru x-ray machines, onto dive boats or crusie boat tenders, thru any narrow corridors, etc. Stores both sets of basic gear, but no wet suits. Were going to return it for Akona indivdual dive bags with mesh compartments since this ones so well made with lots of nice features such as large wheels, stowage shoulder straps, etc.

Rating: This is the GREATEST dive bag ever.
Reviewer: William W.,
I love the back pack feature, it allows me to carry my weight bag in one hand and a tank in the other. This means fewer trips back and forth between the car and the dive site. It is large enough to truly carry two sets of gear, so taking it on a dive boat with a pair of divers is practical. However, it might be a little to large as a boat bag for one diver. I can put my dive gear and my clothes in this bag to eliminate an extra bag when flying.

Rating: Made for International travel
Reviewer: David Stone, - View all my reviews
I have the largest Akona but it is not allowed for International flights. Also, when this one is loaded with everything and wetsuit it weighs 50# which is the max weight allowable. The regulator bag is good and I carried it as a carryon.

Rating: excellent bag
Reviewer: Andrew Pharo,
This bag hasthe best storage options and has plenty of room for a full set of cold water diving gear. Before this bag I used to hand carry e be rything to the dive sites. Now I simply roll it all out there or car it lime a backpack. Great product.

Rating: 5 star bag!!!
Reviewer: Donald Dew, - View all my reviews
We took this bag on our recent trip to Fajardo, PR and then on a 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise. This bag held 2 sets of dive gear in it (with wetsuits)!!! OUTSTANDING QUALITY!!! The heavy duty zippers are such a plus, along with all the different compartments. It held up great with the airport handling, which lately destroys our personal luggage!! It also held up great with all the transfers from vans to taxis to cruise ships to hotels to dive boats etc. We were gone for 12 days and it was so nice to have all of our dive gear in one bag. We did stow our regs in our personal luggage for air travel because it went a little over the 50 lbs. However, when we arrived to our destination we were able to stow EVERYTHING in one bag for our dive excursions and to board the cruise ship.
AWESOME BUY!!!! NO REGRETS!!!

Rating: Great Bag

Overall great bag with lots of room, the only 2 drawbacks are: it is a little heavy and with all the room easy to go overweight, and the security sleeve wears easily, already have a few holes in it after the first trip. I would still recommend this bag to anyone interested.

Rating: Good Bag
Reviewer: Michelle S.,
Straps are comfy, fits lots of gear... you basically will go over weight limits before you max out the bag. Wish the water bottle was on the inside to make things more streamlined. So far the wheels are working well as is the handle.

Rating: Akona Adventure Dive Bag
Reviewer: Robert G.,
This is a phenomenal bag for dive gear. This is my second one. The first one lasted me 13 years and about 80 dive trips to the ends of the earth.

Michele:
I would like to use this to carry my gear on and off the boat. It will get soaked. Is it meant to get wet?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
How padded is it? what is the protection for your scuba gear in the bag? i do a lot of traveling and i dont want my gear to break.
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Any of the bags designed for scuba gear are fairly well padded and designed to hold dry or wet gear. The denier on the material tells you how heavy duty or thick the material is on the bag. 1000 to 1200 is very durable, but will be weigh more.
Steve:
I have the Akona Lg bag and have loved it but on my return trip from BonAir this week one of my rollers broke off and I was wondering if I can just order that part instead of getting a new bag? Any suggestions?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
You will have to send it to an authorized dealer to be sent back to the manufacturer for warranty repair.
