Rating: great little slate

I really like this slate. It has by far most of the common phrases you would want to communicate with your partner. If it doesnt have what you want to say, you can write on the back using the supplied pencil. The pencil has very dense wood and will not shrivel when you take it to depth. If you are a DM or Instructor, this is also a great way to communicate with your students or other DMs underwater to make sure they know exactly what you want them to do.

Recently I tried to tell my dive buddy two words underwater. I even took out my reg and yelled as I expelled air and words. Hand signals worked better so I got the communication slate. It is so easy to use and pointing to the words and using in the pre-dive planning is great. I consider it a simple tool to make dives safer and more enjoyable. Puget Sound Diver

This is a great slate for underwater communication. I really like that it has many frequently used statements already printed on it so you just have to point no writting required. The back is blank though so as to write anything you want on it. Also of note it does come with a pencil and lanyard for the pencil. All in all a great product.

Effective communication that is a lot cheaper than getting a divorce. We have also added our own commonly used phrases.

Love the preprinted phrases. Comes in very handy. Does come with a pencil. Nice size. Make sure you buy slate cleaner though.

A slate is a must have for proper communication under water! Used it extensively when we dove in Florida. Sometimes just pointing doesnt quite cut it!!!
