Rating: Great SMB

Just returned from wreck diving in Norway where I used this DSMB during deco so boat could track our location as we hang. Very easy to inflate at depth using exhaust from second stage. No problem with it at all once I worked out where best to store it which was permanently connected to reel cord and strapped to reel handle when not in use for easy ready access when needed.

Rating: OMS Surface Marker Buoy, spear fishing
Reviewer: Captain Brett Low, Sunday, August 05, 2007
I bought this buoy/lift bag for 2 reasons. The primary reason was to send up my stringer of fish after spearfishing, allowing me to surface without the risk of a shark encounter. Having a bunch of bleeding fish with me has brought in toothy critters before. Also with large fish, if they are not dead, will sometimes start to kick again on the way up, if you are doing a deco stop that is not good. The first time I used the bouy I sent a 60lb Balck Grouper to the surface with 2 shafts in him and my gun attached as well. It worked flawlessly and was simple to use. The secondary reason is you can use it as a saftey sausage. Capt. Brett

This marker could easily be improved with a velcro strap that would keep it rolled up when not in use.

Rating: Perfect SMB
Reviewer: Michael P., Saturday, June 16, 2007 - View all my reviews
Self sealing SMBs are the best. They dont spill when you send them up. I use it with my reel for tec diving. Well worth the extra cost. The OMS version is a good one.
