I am a size 12 mens however because of the way fins and boots loosen up while diving I where a size 11 boot . What size find would I need
That is difficult to say from your information. Typically the manufacturer states that fins should be purchased using a normal sneaker-style shoe size taking into account that the fins are made to accept the boots and that is factored into their sizing already. I think I''d personally lean toward the 12/13 size
I am 1 step away from ordering the Atomic Smoke on the Water fins. However, I am not sure of the size I have to order them in and I do not want to make any mistakes as I cannot afford to send them back. I am male and wear US size 6 and a half or European 39 shoes. Please help!
Im a womens 9.5 shoe size. Do you think this fin in a medium size will be better than a large?? Im thinking medium.... Do you agree? Thanks!
I am a 5 158lb. Woman & need to replace my old scuba fins since we will be diving the Coral Sea in December. Are these fins suitable or do u have better suggestions. Have not had to deal with currents except drift diving for years so want something more powerful for the conditions we expect. Thanks.
Hello Sue, if your going to be doing alot of drift diving I would suggest the http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-20/012324/ScubaPro-Twin-Jet-Adjustable-Strap-Dive-Fins.html.
Greg, I wear an ladies size 8 and a 39 European size. I agree with what SJ he wrote..My problem is that every time I order a medium fin it is too big. Thats with a good boo on. It appears that with these atomic fins, a medium may be correct and fit. Do you agree?
How big is the difference between the regular Atomic split fins, and the stiffer/lighter snoke/red split fins? Also, which size would you recommend for mens boot size 11.5US?
Hi Div, Atomic has two types of split fin, soft blades will kick easier than a longer, stiffer one, but will require many more kicks to travel the same distance. A blade that is too stiff will require too much effort to kick comfortably. The Atomic SplitFins were specifically designed to optimize all these variables. We would recommend the large size.
How Atomic Aquatics SplitFins Work
SplitFin Wings “Slice” Through the Water
Traditional paddle fins work by pushing water rearward. As a paddle fin is pushed through the water, much of the water spills over the top surface of the blade and sticks to it, creating drag. Extra kicking effort is required to overcome that drag. The Atomic SplitFin slices through the water with two wing-shaped surfaces, creating lift and forward propulsion more like a propeller. Any water traveling over the top of the blade is funneled into and out of the opening (split) between the wings. Drag is reduced, effort is reduced, and efficiency is increased.
Propeller-Fin™ Technology Moves You Faster
Atomic Aquatics SplitFins use Propeller-Fin Technology to deliver ultra-high speeds with a small-range rapid flutter kick. This works in the same manner that increasing the RPM on a boat propeller accelerates a boat to high speeds.
Multi-Composite Plastics And Other Uniquely Atomic Features
The Atomic signature is our use of exotic materials specifically designed to improve performance. We developed multi-composite plastics for the SplitFins to maximize the efficiency of the kick with less fatigue. Flexible side rails and a stiff foot pocket are combined with stiff battens in the blade to control the flex pattern for optimum performance. Our patented EZ-LOK Buckle System is one of those distinct Atomic features that make divers love us even more.
