"The Bio-fin Pro Yellow is a bonafide speedster, and real neck snapper off the mark."
"One out of two fins rated Excellent in the power vs. stress ergo category (the other was the Apollo Bio Pro XT), this is also the only fin test divers rated Excellent for acceleration" -Scuba Lab
"powerful, yet comfortable-it virtually form-fits to foot... Zero resistance at high speeds" -Scuba Lab

" It's 100% natural rubber construction provides a butter-soft foot pocket that feels molded to your foot. It's the only fin in this year's competition to earn an excellent rating for comfort. But while it may fit like a favorite slipper, it doesn't behave like one. The Bio-Fin Pro Yellow/C-Series outraced all comers on the speed test, muscled top score out of the thrust test and easily dusted the competition on both the slalom and efficiency courses. When test divers took it out for some real-world diving, it dominated there too. Generating snorkel bending acceleration, stability at high speeds and a nimbleness that had everybody talking, this pliable fin racked up the highest total ergo score. As the only open-heel fin rated excellent for power, for acceleration, for its efficiency with alternate kicks, as well as for comfort, it's easy to see why the Bio-Fin Pro Yellow/C-Series is this year's top overall open heel fin. " -Scuba Lab

Rating: Come Over to the Split Side!
Reviewer: Linda O´Connor, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
As a relatively new diver, I had made the mistake of buying what was on sale from my local dive shop instead of doing research and buying the equipment would better enhance my diving experience. Decided before my next dive vacation that I would upgrade and did my homework and decided to wander over to the split side. These fins are great. Sometimes I have to look down to make sure theyre still on because I feel no ankle stress, and no cramping in my feet. Dont feel like Ive got plywood strapped to my feet. The first dive I did knock my fins together a bit, but then I figured it out and now I can keep up with the DM with minimal effort. They do not create a big amount of turbulence so I can cruise close to the bottom (as close as a newbie can!) and not muck up the dive for my fellow divers. They have mostly negative bouyancy, which I need. Did some drift diving with them and was able to crank when needed and I still wasnt tired when we surfaced. The color is closer to banana yellow than the neon yellow, if that is a factor for anyone. Replacement straps are not black, they are grey.. I ordered them but havent had to use them. Overall, straps are easy to use and adjust. I cant wait to take them out again in December. I wont go back to traditional fins Now - if only I can find a home for that first pair gently used fins...

Rating: Good, but overhyped
Reviewer: Ira Winkler, Sunday, November 19, 2006
When you read the reviews, and then see that the price is about double than other fins, you expect it to live up to the hype. Honestly though, the difference isnt that noticable. If you read the literature, you have to "kick" differently than you do with normal fins. It says you should use very small kicks, which takes some minor getting used to. Another drawback is the weight. They seem to weigh about twice that of a normal fin. This is only important when you have to carry or pack them. This can sometimes put you over the limit, and have you pay extra on airlines. Otherwise, the best feature is definitely the spring straps. They help you get in and out of the fins really quick. The big drawback of them, as they are tight to the footcup, is that you cannot easily slip your hands or arms through the strap to carry the fins, and if you are like me, to secure the fins while you pull yourself up a ladder. This can be a problem if for some reason you end up back in the water and you already threw your fins on the boat. Maybe as I use them more, I will come to appreciate them more. Again, theyre good, but I am not sure if the extra money is worth it

Rating: Amazing Fins
Reviewer: Justin D., Saturday, June 21, 2008 - View all my reviews
These fins are great best ive ever used. They allow you to cut through the water with ease. They limit leg strain, and fatigue alot heres and example. Im a new dive master trainee, and i went out with my first open water class with my instructor friend, and i was chasing students down for four dives ranging from 20 mins to 40 mins, and at the end of the weekend i had no tightness, or soreness in my legs. Which is a miracle with all the times i had to go all out to catch up with a stray student. So if your looking for a new set up fins i would highly suggest these. Also if you dont mind the extra $50 add the spring straps. I have them on mine, and i can get the fins on, and off in under ten seconds easily.

Rating: Apollo Bio-Pro Fins with spring straps
Reviewer: Robert Daun, Wednesday, September 20, 2006 - View all my reviews
I had been having problems with leg cramps and deceided to try the Apollo fins as they were previously reviewed as to help that problem. After purchasing the Apollo fins, I have had no further leg cramps and it is like diving in house shoes. It takes little or no effort to propell myself, yet there is plently of power to move through the water even when diving with my 108CF. steel tank along with my 80CF. sling bottle. I also purchased the spring strap of which hugs my boot better than an standard strap and is easier getting off and on.

Rating: Apollo Split Fins
Reviewer: R. B., Saturday, July 28, 2007
I was skeptical at first, but these fins have proved to be worth the hype. They are easy to kick, dont stir up the bottom as much, and helped me conserve air. Be advised, however, that theyre heavy because theyre rubber. They also require a different kick than the standard hip-kick. All in all, theyre worth the money. I got power, air conservation, and because these are yellow, I can be seen by my buddy better. Good investment.

Very comfortable and they work great. The spring steel strap is excellent, easy on and off like never before. No leg cramping at all and you move through the water with the greatest of ease. Have only ever used Rockets before these, the difference in comfort and lack of effort needed is noticable. would definately buy again, although I am hoping these will be the last pair of fins I ever need.

Reviewer: Jim Myers, Sunday, November 26, 2006
TO REWARD MYSELF FOR ACHEIVING PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER, AND TO PREPARE FOR A CRUISE TO COZUMEL AND GRAND CAYMEN, I PURCHASED A SET OF APOLLO BIO-PRO SPLIT FINS. THE ADVERTISMENT CLAIMS WERE TRUE. MY SPEED INCREASED, MY AIR CONSUMPTION WENT DOWN, AND BEST OF ALL THE CALF CRAMPS WENT AWAY. CUDOS TO APOLLO FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.

Reviewer: Krystal Piper, Saturday, September 23, 2006 - View all my reviews
These are great fins! My husband has Zoom fins and I easily beat him when we "race" even though he is normally a faster swimmer than I am. Also when diving in a group, my buddies wonder at why my SAC rate is always 10%-30% lower than theirs. The Apollo Bio-Pros are very fast and very efficient fins.

While not magic the biofins are very comfortable and once one gets used to the short stroke kick quite fast. They arent as powerful when using a dolphin kick as my old fins (useful for getting back into a zodiac) were but I could still power up over the side.

Reviewer: Pete M., Friday, February 16, 2007
My previous favorites ( my girlfriend uses these) were the Aeris Velocity duo. These are slightly faster and more efficient. Straps on and off are easiest to use ever... My 1st choice color wasnt available in time, but the yellow worked out well.

Rating: Expensive. Even with a price match.
Reviewer: Aaron Cornett, Sunday, September 09, 2007 - View all my reviews
Fins were price matched to another online vendor. I have used them on several local dives, and the fins seem to be a very high quality piece of kit. I get noticeably less fatigue and cramps in my feet/legs, even when fighting current.
