Rating: Where have these been all my life?
Reviewer: Ira Stein  -  View all my reviews
Ive been using a pair of scubapro flow-throughs for the past 30 years. Theyve served well but these jet max films are something else. Unlike any others Ive had they go on and off effortlessly. They have great propulsive power but dont strain the metarsal (instep) tendons like most others (force fins are also easy on the insteps but have less push). Im sorry I fell behind on fin technology. Where have these been all my life!?

Rating: Twin Jet Max Fins
Reviewer: Karl E.
The name says it all, which suggests Power & Speed but not necessarily the later. Its more about comfort and the ease of your movement to propell yourself forward. I have used another brand of split fins for years and until an irreplaceable lug retainer for the fin strap broke recently, believed those babies were the best fins ever since sliced bread. How wrong was I and how great these Twin Jet Max Fins are to wear in the water. Add the adjustable spring loaded straps and your diving life is made even easier still Well worth the price, just add them to your gear, you wont be sorry.

Rating: Jet fin max versus v-12
Reviewer: Doug S.  -  View all my reviews
After much debate and research, I decided on the scuba pro jet fin max over the oceanic v-12. Much of the consensus is that the max provides better acceleration due to its stiffer component. I am a strong swimmer and agree. Perhaps the v-12s are better suited to newer or less conditioned divers. For either fin I recommend considering a hard sole boot to provide more support and avoid foot cramping due to too much flex in the foot from softer boots. Either fin is top quality. I like the spring strap on the max. Makes for easy entry and exit. The max may also be lighter for traveling.

Very comfortable, enjoy using them. Discovered that spring straps are now a neccessity. Fins are ever so slightly positively buoyant, nearly neutral. Free Shipping, 5 Stars

how do you register your fins for a life time warranty

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

On many scuba products that do not require annual servicing your receipt is proof of your warranty.

  • Mike:

I will only be using these fins for snorkeling and will be wearing a 5mm neoprene boat. I believe the spring straps are for convenience? Do I need them or will standard straps do the trick? Are the spring straps hard on your heel? I have had knee and ankle issues and was directed to these, are there any other types of fins I should consider?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Mike, the spring straps come standard with these fins. I wear spring straps and it makes putting them on and taking them off so much easier and they ride on your heel better than the rubber strap.

  • Rufus:

How much do these fins weigh and do they have a positive or negative buoyancy?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Rufus, you are looking at about 3.2lbs per fin. Also if you let goes of these fins in the water they will sink.

  • Dennis:

If I wanna use boots with this fins, is there some boots that fits better then others? Ive been looking on Mares Trilastic Boots, is that a good choice for this fins? Or should I choose some other boots? If I have boots in size 8, what size on the fins shall I choose? Does anyone tried this fins with float tube (flyfishing)? Lots of questions, but Im not a diver... Thanks Dennis

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Dennis, a hard sole boot will fit more snug in the fin pocket just because of the hard sole. But any boot would work with theses fins. The size you would want to order is the men 8/10 woman 10-12. You can also use them with your float tube if your boots fit in the fin.

  • Roland:

I am 61 years old, and do not have very strong legs, would this be a good choice for me, or have any recommendation for me.

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

These fins would be a good choice. Split fins are much easier to kick with.

  • Roland:

I am 61 years old, and do not have very strong legs, would you recommend this style of fin for me. Or can you recommend another for me.

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

yes any split fin is great for people that don''t have a very strong kick.

  • Yony:

Are the ScubaPro Max fins spring straps repairable ? My just over one year old rubber hand grip tore off from spring assembly. Can I unscrew one clip and slide hand grip off and replace ? Any suggestions on purchasing only hat part ? Thanks Tony

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Yony, no that is not a replacement part that is sold. You would need to replace the entire spring strap.

  • timothy:

how do these compare to atomic smoke on the water fins

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

very similar. A little bit stiffer though.

  • Ed:

have been looking for a good bit of time, I want to purchased the Scubapro Twin Jet (Extra Large, Yellow and Black) can not find any, have Scubapro stopped making these, how can somebody find/buy a set?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The original Twin Jet fins were each made in a solid color. The Twin Jet Max are the version with the color/black combination and currently this is their most recent version of that fin.

  • Todd:

Are these a good frog kicking fin all a cold water perform?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Typically speaking, Split Fins are not normally considered the best at frog kicking. I personally seem to have no problem with that kick stroke with my split fins, but it seems it is the #1 comment people make regarding them.

  • Julie:

Are these mens or womens sizes? If I wear a size 8.5 womens shoe, what size would I get in these fins?

    Kevin  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

You would fit the size Men''s 6-8/Women''s 8-10 (Small).

  • Carlos:

Hello, what is the total length of these fins, thanks

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Carlos, depends on the size you are looking for but the length of the fins go from 24" to 26".

  • Sameh:

Hi, Im considering to switch to split-fins but just need to know if the thrust will be less than a solid type. Thanks.

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

It will be different. The kick stroke and the response to it will be completely different.

  • Brian:

looking for the yellow ones in xl? does scubapro still make them?

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello, scubapro only offers the xl''s in the graphite color.

  • katie:

I have advanced patellofemoral syndrome in both knees and kicking has progessively become more difficult and more painful as the years go by. I am still fit, muscular and a good swimmer/diver and like to use a variety of kick styles. I recently tried the twin jet and thought it relieved a lot of the pressure on my knees, but am concerned about power. I am considering the mas but am unable to try it out. Which fin would you recommend? Is the max similar to the Atomic spit fin?

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello, those fins are very similar. The main difference is that the Atomics are much more flexible and would be easier to kick with.

  • Tracy:

I am new to scuba diving and looking for a good pair of fins. I have completely ruptured both my achilles tendons and had them repaired and had surgery on one of my knees. Would these fins be best suited for someone like me?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Tracy, yes for the issues you are having I would suggest a split fin over the standard paddle fin. Now when it comes to split fins this fins is a great choice for you.

  • Steven:

What is the weight of size 11 fins

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Steven, the weight of the size 11-13 fin is 7.8 pounds. That is in the Graphite color. If you go with the size 9-12 in either Blue or Yellow you would be looking at 7 pounds.

Discover the power of the Twin Jet Max split fin by SCUBAPRO.

The Twin Jet Max Fin features a patented split-hydrofoil shape to deliver optimum power with minimum effort, plus dual-compound construction, which enables SCUBAPRO to fine-tune performance and optimize maneuverability and diver comfort.

The OPTIONAL spring strap allows you to easily and quickly slip on your fins. No struggling with adjustments or getting a twisted strap over your boots. The spring strap system simply rolls onto your heel and keeps the fin snugly, yet comfortably, on your foot. Its added durability and sturdiness make your Twin Jet Max fins fit for a lifetime.

There are three primary variables to consider when selecting a fin: power, efficiency and fit. The more water a fin moves, the greater its kicking power. Furthermore, fins that transfer a greater percentage of a diver's kicking effort into forward motion are considered to be more efficient. TWIN JET MAX FINS do just that!
