Rating: Great computer
Reviewer: Michael Guerrero,
Pro: Have completed 7 dives with this computer. Its great. Very easy to read underwater. Very simple use. Put in on your wrist, hit the button right before splash, and dive away. Notifies you of your ascent rate, reminds you of the safety stop. Ive been wearing a hood because Im diving 52 degree water, so havent heard the alarms yet, but it has them. Havent done night dives with it, but it does have the backlight.
Con: When accessing the log book, it only stays on the particular dive for a short time (10 seconds max). Then it goes back to the surface mode and you have to scroll all the way through the menus to get back to log book. Its a pain. Make sure you have a pen and paper before you access the log book function, and then quickly write down the time, depth, and temp.

This is my first dive computer. Used it last week in St. Lucia and it worked perfectly. Im glad I bought it. Its great to be able to look at the computers logbook and fill in your logbook when you get back on land, instead of on a rocking boat.

Rating: Excellent computer

Ive used the computer on 3 dives so far and it is exceeding my expectations. The information is clearly visible and easy to interpret. The one touch button also simplifies the menu navigation. The instruction manual could be better in describing the various menus, but after spending a few minutes with the watch, it was easy to figure out. This is my first dive computer, so I dont have any experience with other products for comparison. Regardless, it appears to be a great computer.

Rating: Mares Mission Puck Air/Nitrox Dive Computer
Reviewer: Michael Gann, - View all my reviews
I first purchased a Mares Mission Puck dive computer after my old computer failed during a dive trip. It is so easy to read and use that I purchased a second One for my wife. One bounce feature that I discovered is that it will turn its self on at about 15-20 feet should you forget to do so before entering the water. We do a lot of remote area diving and having the same computer utilizing the same batteries simplies the issue of carrying spare batteries.

Rating: MARES MISSION PUCK
Reviewer: Phillip Theunissen,
This is a great product. Used it on 4 dives at variable depths. 2 Dives were done to depth of 40m(122ft)28% and 32% NITROX blend. The computer warning on exeeded depth is 100% accurate. The VIS on one dive was real bad and water was merchy. The PUCK how ever surprized me again with the clarity and bright display. I will not buy any other product. I had other name brands, but all my gear has since been changed out to MARES. MARES gear is not just good and durable it is also very well priced.
Thank you
Phillip Theunissen

As advertised and seems simple enough to use. I am a recreational diver and do not use for tech so your on your own there.

Rating: MARES dive computer
Reviewer: James Schill,
I like the ease of the computer and have taken it on 5 dives in the last few days here in the Philippines. All of my dive friends both American and Filipino believe it is very good and useful though conservative on its readings. Yes I can change the default readings but am in favor of being safe all the time. I also like its large lettering as my eyesight at age of 67 is not what I would like it to be. Sincerely, J Schill

Rating: Great computer for a great price
Reviewer: ROBYN B.,
My husband and I both bought the Mares Puck wrist computer and used them during our PADI Advanced Open Water course in July 09. Easy to follow directions to set-up and use. Its a basic computer but has some advanced functions like safety stop monitoring and nitrox. We used it for one week of diving, so we dont have any long term use history. Looking forward to using it in January when we go to Bonaire.

Rating: Mares Puck
Reviewer: Carl D.,
First computer purchased, bought two, one for me one for 14 YO son. Bought because other reviews said, simple, easy to use.
Pros: It is very simple to use, had to read manual only once. Interface easy to read, shows limited, but important data. Good safety alarms/features including accent rate, altitude, gas mixture (did not use Nitrox). Stores 40 dives with basic required data for your log book. Menus easy to understand. Price to quality appears excellent.
Cons: Some may consider bulky, but I had no problems. One button control is great, but took a few times to familiarize when scrolling through menus.
Im very satisfied for a fight computer.

Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
No, this is a dive computer and is too large to wear as a watch.
David:
According to the .pdf file that Mares has on-line, the Puck is capable of downloading dives to a Windows PC through an optional interface. It is also supposed to interface with their Dive Organizer program. So Im a bit confused with the previous Q&A. Is this computer an older or discontinued model?
Clarke (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry! The Family of Mares “Mission PUCK Computers” are not downloadable and therefore cannot be used with the Mares Dive Organizer. The Mares Puck Air / Nitrox Integrated Dive Computer with Compass is the only “PUCK” capable of downloading dives to a Windows PC through an optional interface. It is also able to interface with their Dive Organizer program. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-16/009238/Mares-Puck-Air---Nitrox-Integrated-Dive-Computer.html If you would like to place an order or have questions about our products, please contact one of our certified Dive Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: info@scuba.com

Deb:
Hello! I am looking for a computer that will fit into my console, is this model strictly a watch style? thanks!
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
This is a wrist model, it can be removed from the boot. The sizes on the modules have changed over the last several years and most manufacturers are not inter-changeable with different consoles. Staying with the same brand will give you better chance with a replacement.
