Rating: Dive weights on the Cheap
Reviewer: Sean L.,
After looking at other soft weights, and seeing the $4/lb price tage, this seemed like a no brainer. I bought 4 5lb bags, figuring I could adjust the weight as needed in each up to 5 lbs, then for about $50, had 25lbs of reclaimed lead shot shipped to my house. I cleaned off all the dirt and such, measured out the shot for each pouch, and the double velcro flap seemed to hold it all in pretty well. havent dove with them yet, but I dont foresee any differnces or problems coming up. And the ability to adjust the amount in the bag is nice (just because the pouch says 5 on it, doesnt mean thats whats in there).

go ahead and make the investment. the fit better in you bcd, dont hurt (as much) when you them on your foot or the boat deck, you can take weight out of them if you need them to weigh less but still want the pouch, the weight amount is always readily identifiable, and they are not that much more expensive.

Very well constructed weight pouches for your BC. Easy to load and double velcro closure to prevent spillage of lead shot. Mesh allows easy rinsing after a dive.

Great little pouches. Save a bunch buying reclaimed shot form the range and these pouches. EZ to get exactly what you need for the diving configuration you are using.

These are the greatest. We have about 2 dozen in different sizes. Great for the BCD and for pocketed weight belts for Spearfishing.
I highly recommend these to anyone that Scuba Dives or is in to Spearfishing.
Easy to clean, store and dries quickly as well.
Thanks, Sharon

I have been using XS Scuba Weight pouches for the last 2 years. They have lasted me for over 2 years now. I have now purchased more for my dive partner. I dive about 2-3 times daily (dive instructor).

They are tight fitting and seems to be well made. The will work just fine and fit in the belt tight too. Its probably a good thing because with time everything will lossen up. Filling up with shot was easy. Velcro seal is strong. Looks good and feels good.

Being on a budget, I couldnt afford $5.00 per pound for soft weights, but found the pouches on scuba.com to be very inexpensive, so after a little research, I was able to get the lead weight and pouches for about half what it would have cost me. so, want to dive, but cant afford the gear, think again and double check scuba.com

What can I saw about the weights that I purchased, other than they definitely help keep me neutrally buoyant. Great quality

This is a awesome way to save money, if you have the shot available. I used number 4 shot and did not have a problem hitting the correct weight. There was still plenty of room to secure the double velcro closure.
I got a weight belt and some diving weight pouch black 5lbs. And others. .how do I get them on the belt .i think I need something more.
