Rating: Scubamax Weight Belt Review - $17.95 - Scuba Gear Customer Reviews
Reviewer: Robert C.
This belt is an excellent product in my opinion. I have spent more money in the past for much of a lesser product. My only suggestion would be to change the clasp from plastic to stainless steel. This is just my preference. Diving in cold waters with a lot of thermal rotection, means carrying more weight. I dont want to chance the plastic failing at depth..

Rating: Weight belt, 5 pocket
Reviewer: Lori B.Tilson
If you still like to use a weight belt rather than integrated (as I do), this belt makes it super easy. No weight to pack for a dive trip and easy once on the boat. Takes lead or soft weights... easy!

Rating: could be better
Reviewer: Brian L.
At first look the belt seem perfect but after using them I see they are not made very well. -the pockets are not the same size so similarly sized weights dont fit in all pockets -stiching should be with a more durable thread. I expect the seams will fail quickly. Granted, these belts are inexpensive but I dont think better quality control would add to any increased manufacturing expense.

Rating: 4 pocket weight belt

Great weight belt if you are 10 years old. If you have a waist size of 32-40 you have to get a 6 pocket belt. Stainless steel buckle is a plus.

Be very careful in the waist size. A 4 pocket weight belt would only fit a waist size 24 inches. If you are a 36 waist you must get 6 pocket.

Rating: No Flare but 100% Functionality
Reviewer: Felipe Siqueira
Fuctionality is key here. There is no flare to this belt, but weight pockets are big enough to store 5lb weights and even higher weight shot style bags, and Release works great!

Rating: nice belt!!!
Reviewer: Mark C Gaston  -  View all my reviews
This belt is heavy duty yet light with extra rings to hang more "stuff" on. The pouches drain water well and you dont end up with a puddle where your belt ends up. Nice metal buckle. Couldnt ask for more......for a decent price no less.

Rating: A Great Weight System!
Reviewer: John McAuliffe  -  View all my reviews
This belt was the answer to our problems. We ordered another companies belt first, but found them undersized in lenght. This belt is longer, very versatile and easy to add or subtract weight underwater! We are very pleased with this product!

i need a dive belt for exercise for my husband, would this one be sufficent for walking in a pool?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This belt will do the trick.

  • Janis:

My waist measures 40 inches. I need a weight belt that will accomodate 4 two pound weights. Will this one work? (in the smallest size?)

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    The 5 pocket should fit.

  • Eric:

3 Questions: Can you fit 2-2lbs soft weights into a single pocket? also, can you fit a 6lbs soft weight into any pocket? Are the pockets the same size in the 5 or 6 pockets belts? Thanks

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello, yes all the pockets are the same size and can handle the 2-2''s and even a 6Lbs weight. There are just more pockets in the 6.

  • greg:

I snorkel with a 6.5 mm full neo suit, (13 mm torso)I weigh 160. I carry a swag bag, how much weight to achieve neutral buoyancy?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Typically in a 6.5 to 7mm suit, neutral buoyancy is found at approximately 10% of the person''s body weight, plus 4 pounds. In this case 20lbs of lead would be the starting point with adjustments as needed.
