Questions and Answers for Faber 100 Cubic Foot High Pressure Steel Tank:

  • Michael:

Is this tank really over 6 lbs negative empty? Or is this a typo!

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    -14.11 full and -6.69 empty

  • Bob:

You specs are off. The bouncy numbers you have listed are for the Faber HP, Not the Faber FX chromoly tank. Unless the regular HP is what you are actually offering here. If that is the case you cant say is is chromium molybdenum steel and that it is certified for 3500 for life.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Bob, those are the specs we get directly from the manufacture. As for the pressure of the tank as long as it passes the hydro test that needs to be done every 5 years this tank will be rated to 3500psi for the life of the tank.

  • Scott:

Under the "more about this product" section it seems to be describing the FX model of the 100, not the M (dot 3AA) model. (It states din/yoke valve but I see from the questions that it is din only). My question is, if my reg is rated to 3500 psi with its yoke, is there a din to yoke adapter avail that can be used with this tank valve?

Aaron  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hi Scott, With cylinders that are 3500psi and above. They require the connection to be DIN on the valve and the 1st on the regulator. We''ll have the more about this product corrected.

  • Patrick:

Is it true that a 100 CF @ 3500 psi tank will have 80 CF of air left @ 3000 psi?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Patrick, you would need to contact the manufacture directly at (856) 779-8181. I do not think that it is correct that when you are at 3000 psi there is 80 cf left in the tank.

  • Kent:

Why is it that this is the high pressure (faber) tank that says you must have a DIN connection. Does it not have the pro valve with yoke/DIN conversion.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Kent, no this tank does not come with the pro valve. This has a DIN valve connection.
