Rating: ScubaPro 6.5mm Heavy Duty Zipper Dive Boots Review - Scuba Gear Reviews
Reviewer: Peter Stevenson  -  View all my reviews
I have been a Diver & Diving Suppervisor for the past 36 years and these are the one of the best boots I have owned, as anyone who works full time as a diver knows most of the working day is spent on the boat/barge or climing over the rocks so a firm sole is very important. I like the way the sole curves up around the foot as this were most of my boots wore.

Rating: Love these boots!
Reviewer: Gary Krauss
This is the first time Ive tried a full-sole boot, and I just love em! Great support for the feet on all kinds of terrain, yet you dont notice the stiff sole underwater. I need arch support for my shoes, why not when Im carrying 80 pounds of dive gear? Ill never go back to soft boots again. Wish Id gotten these years ago.

Questions and Answers for ScubaPro 6.5mm Heavy Duty Zipper Dive Boots:

  • Leah:

Hello, I am seeking boots that can be worn with fins but that will also work well for walking on sharp lava rock and occasional coral we may run into (on accident!). We live off the warm waters of Hawaii so temperature isnt a huge concern although it can get a bit chilly at times. Mostly just want to make sure sensitive feet will fair well in these as we journey to our next snorkel/dive locations. Thanks!

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

These boots, along with any Heavy Duty Sole boot will work perfectly.

  • Gary:

I have a wide foot, and usually wear size 11. Will the 10-11 (large) fit, or should I go to the next size?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Gary, I would suggest the size 11-12 for you. Since you wear a size 11W the size 11-12 I think would be a better fit.

  • Jason:

I live in East Timor, there is a lot of walk off diving. Some sites the rocks are super slippery. Some colleagues have mentioned dive boots with like a felt material on the bottom of their dive boots that when it gets wet helps counter slippery surfaces. Are these the product or can you please refer me to dive boots that meet that description. Thank you, Jason

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jason, these boots will be like wearing tennis shoe as dive boots. If you are looking for that felt type material take a look at the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-13/003862/Bare-5mm-Soft-Sole-Zipper-Dive-Boots.html.

  • Daryl:

Normally I wear a size 11.5 - 12US or 29.5cm sneaker. What size Scubapro boot would you recommend? What size Fin should I purchase in the Mares Quattro Excel Plus range? Thank you - Daryl

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Daryl, you would need a size 12 boot and for the fins you would order the fin in the size range of 11-13
