Rating: Seems robust

Appears beefy, a little big in packaging. No ratchet, though, so it wouldnt be useful for camera or light. Looks as if the phillips heads of the casing screws were strip on assembly. Got it after a trip, so wont know the full story until I get to use it diving.

Rating: Works fine

got a pink retractor on a closeout sale i’m not into pink, but the price was excellent. i spray painted the pink part to match my other gear. otherwise works fine. i use one to hold my octo/bc inflator close to my mouth for emergencies. good length for holding extended over my head when ascending and descending. retractor has sufficient power to hold in place when not using. the second one is on the hip of my bc to hold my compass/debt gage/ computer counsel. not sure why this item is closing out, if it indeed is.

Rating: Retractor a bit weak
Reviewer: Stephen Greer, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 - View all my reviews
I attached my dive light to the unit and found the weight of the light enough to pull the cord out of the retractor too far to be useful as a retractor for the light. The light is a compact unit (not a real small mini-light)and doesnt weight more than about a pound. The retractor worked just fine with lighter items.

Rating: Not quite a bargin

I eceived retractors with PLASTIC snaps not the advertised SS beaners! Other than that theyre OK actually a little weak for anything substantial, Im using them for rigging a fishing yak so theyll do but theyre not what they say!

Rating: Very reliable product, stands up to abuse

Diving in the North East, every piece of your gear goes through torture. The Stainless Steel clip really makes this feel very sturdy, and it is easy to operate with gloves on. The cord on the retractor might look a little thin, but it is surprisingly strong.

Rating: Decent retractor clip

Not a bad clip. The plastic clip was a bit disappointing, and was a bit hard to get off of my BC ring (I used it for clipping my camera housing to my BC).

Rating: It does what I need it to

It holds my air integrated console and keeps it pulled in close. The quick release attachment is a perfect compliment for my gage console.
