Rating: Always use it

Only wish it came in a bigger bottle for use at home. This one stays in my save a dive kit. Great for straps, hoses, lubricating fin pockets for easier doffing and donning, mask skirts, etc. One use that I try to remember to do at least one every 10 dives or so is to lube the 3 air dump valves on my BCD to keep them from sticking or leaking.

Rating: Best Gear Preserver

Once I was turned onto food grade silicon spray, I havent used any other type of cleaner / protectant on my gear. Since it is food grade, you can spray this on all your gear and not worry about getting it in your eyes or irritating your skin. All other products that Ive seen have an irritation warning or a flamable warning.
Plus, it is a pump so you can fly with it and not worry about a pressurized cylinder.
Its Armor All for your SCUBA gear!

Rating: Silicone spray
Reviewer: Christopher Trill, Sunday, October 29, 2006 - View all my reviews
The use of silicone spray or gel is often overlooked by divers. This compound will increase the life of any steel knife or clips, by lubricating and protecting against rust. Additionally, silicone spray is essential when adding/removing hoses from the regulator 1st stage.
This is a cheap but essential piece of equipment for any serious diver.

A good drying silicon spray that is great for protecting metal and o-rings from rust, oxidation or drying.

It is so universal, that my wife used it at home before I was able to use it for my dive gear. Great quality pump and the silicon.
