Not "tight" as in good. "Tight" as in TIGHT. Even the XL is much too small for really large feet. The springs jammed my toes so far into the fins I was using that they started to squeeze out the small opening at the front of the foot pocket. This caused lots of pressure on my big toe, which was too much to endure. Had to return the straps.

Rating: Fin Straps-Best purchase in the order

I was in Guam and made several shore dives-these straps are great. Slip your foot in the fin and grab the tab-pull up and youre in. I wont go back to the originals again. Great purchase even if they are a little pricey!

Rating: this fin strap appears to be a high quality simple to use piece of equipt
Reviewer: Eric Huffman
I purchased the Ocean Quest EZ Spring fin straps so I would never have to worry about strap breakage again. They appear to be very high quality equipt, but unfortunately even the smallest straps they sell wont hold my foot in my fin. If you get ones that fit, I think you will be in good shape.

Rating: Great Fins and Straps
Reviewer: John Fernald
I wonder why it took so long for someone to come up with the idea of folding fins. Makes moving around the boat safer and for us older divers, a lot easier getting on and off of the boat. These factors are major considerations in rough water conditions, which are frequent enough here in Molokai, Hawaii. These fins should be paired with the "Ez Spring Fin Straps" (SKU # 012073). These straps make removing your fins, in or out of the water, a breeze.....also great for us old divers. All in all a great product.

These straps were the gift when I purchased TUSA Z3 X-pert. However, I tried so hard to replace them with the adjustable straps, but I failed. So I never got a chance to kick my fins with spring straps on. But they look nice though

I fitted my Ocean Quest Pacific Adjustable Strap Fins with the Ez Spring Fin Straps but did not take them on my vacation to Belize so I have not actually used them. The fins with the straps fitted are very comfortable.

Rating: Not for small feet

I wear a womens size 6.5 shoe, and bought the size S straps to use with Genesis Fins, size S/M (Mens 4-7½/Womens 5-8½). The fins came off my feet repeatedly, causing me to remove these straps and replace with the original manufacturers straps.

Rating: Decent Straps for Free
Reviewer: Robert F.  -  View all my reviews
Got these straps for free with my TUSA Xpert Zoom fins. They were okay and certainly served their purpose for being free. However, I found the TUSA spring straps to be of higher quality and ultimately purchsed those even though I already had these. Decent straps, but in my opinion, there are better ones.

I got a pair for my Mares fins. First they dont go on the post of the fins at all. Second I got small based on reviews on sizing because they dont have a chart to go by. I take size 8 shoe so I got small and after making the buckle fit by making th hoe a little bigger they were way to small. should of went with a Med.And for the cost of sending them back and the week and a half to get them I just said forget it. Ill try ro sell them. They do look and feel like a good strap. If they would fit.

In ordering spring fin straps do you go by foot size or fin size. I use small gull MANTIS FIN but size 7 foot size.

The manufacturer recommends either. Your foot size will dictate your fin size. In this case you''d be a small.

  • Ingrid:

Im debating the size between M and L for the regular (pink) AquaLung Express ADJ as a replacement for the OEM straps. My dive boots are a mens side 10. Streetshoe is womens 11.5

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Ingrid, the size medium would be the size I would suggest for you.

Suitable to most fins on the market using plastic posts to mount the straps, the Ocean Quest EZ Spring Fins Straps are the perfect all around choice for divers. The main advantage to a spring strap is it being self adjusting through out the dive. No more tightening of the fin strap at depth due to neoprene boots compressing or loosening of the straps on ascent. Add to this the convenience of a quick disconnect buckle design and a large finger loop and this really does become a fin strap for any user in all conditions.
