Rating: made for comfort!

Mares makes a boot that stretches comfortably over my EE width, high instep and narrow ankle feet - all to go into strap-back fins for use in warm water dives. If your feet cramp up easily, this boot might work for you, too. I just bought my second pair.

i was going to do some diving in maui and wanted a lightweight pair of booties. after reading a ton of reviews, i settled on the mares 2mm low top equators. they are excellent - snug fit, comfortable, and great for walking to the dive site. im a size 8-1/2, so i ordered a size 8 perfect fit. also, my transaction with scuba.com was great. highly recommended.

I purchased these boots to wear while kayaking and snorkeling. I went to the channel islands and they worked great. They were a little soft for walking on rocks but were strong enough to protect my feet. If your buying these make sure you buy a size smaller than your normal shoe size-they are on the large side. I wear an 11 shoe and ordered the size 10 boot, it fit great. Yes I would recommend these, they are put together well and hold up for more than just diving.

Rating: Great Boot for the Money
Reviewer: Stephen K., Tuesday, February 17, 2009
i was delighted to receive my mares boots from scuba.com. using their suggestion for size, i got the right one for my foot and my fins. they are a great light weight alternative to my cold water boots that i have and will be much better for my dives in mexico. and the price was also very good. the shipping was a little costly for this small size and weight item almost the same as the cost of the boots.

Rating: Yo! Feet! Get a Grip! Great product and great service

I wear a 11 1/2 shoe normally. Since these dont come in 1/2 size, I ordered a 12. The larger size was too big but Scuba.com was quick to send me a size 11 I ordered and quickly refunded the money for the original purchase. I recommend ordering down to the smaller size if youre a half-size wearer as I am.

Rating: great item sizing is a problem
Reviewer: Kathleen A., Thursday, January 15, 2009
we ordered the medium sole equator boots. the soles are nubby and substantial. the fabric is thick, but not too thick overall a great boot. however, the boots run at least one full size larger than advertised. if you are a size 12, buy size 11!

Rating: Nice boots for snorkeling!
Reviewer: Jeffrey Huffman, Thursday, November 27, 2008
I purchased these boots for snorkeling in Hawaii and they worked great! I got them 1-1/2 sizes smaller than I wear for shoes (you want them to be snug, not floppy). They fit inside the rental fins at Hanauma Bay nicely, eliminating the possibility of blisters. Theyre comfortable and I would recommend them to anyone. Now back on the mainland, Ill use them for water shoes at the lake and while kayaking.

Rating: Great for snorkeling and the beach.

Overall, I am very happy with these booties. Yes, they do seem to be a bit big, as other reviewers have attested. A pair of bootie socks solved that problem. Also, with the the 2mm soles, you will definitely feel it if you step on something hard, sharp or jagged. I would buy these again, but certainly with a little more thicker sole. In closing, they are are great product for the price!

Rating: Good purchase
Reviewer: matthew kotelnicki, Tuesday, October 07, 2008
I ordered these boots mostly because they were very affordable. When I recieved them I noticed they fit a little large and thought they may come off my feet while diving... yet they did not. The largeness makes them easy on, easy off and that is nice. Still, I believe they could be a tad bit more snug and that is the only reason I am giving them 4 stars. I was diving in 65 degree water and my feet didnt even feel that cold so I am very pleased. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY!

These boots are great with your fins. I especially like the way the sole is rounded over the sides of the foot. It protects your insoles when walking on a rocky beach. The disadvantage (as with all booties) is that they fill up with water. I would recommend them and buy them again.
