Hi I am 6 tall shirt size XL wast 34or36 what size of wet suit should I buy. Also I am going to be in water 35to50 degrees in Alaska what type of suit should I get
The waist and chest are the most important measurements for the fit with a wetsuit. Height usually will work even if it is one to two inches short or tall. Weight will depend on the divers body build and is the last measurement to consider. Should work for that temperature when using a 7mm hood or even better a hood vest.
Im trying to decide between this suit and the Scubapro 7/5mm Everflex Steamer. Im a divemaster so I spend a lot of time in the water. The water temp is typically between 54 and 62 degrees and warmth is the most important consideration.
At the store I went to they only had Medium Tall in 5mm and a Small in 2.5. The Medium tall was too big in the chest by the armpits and a little under my butt/on the back of my thighs. Waist fit well. The knee pads were too low for my knees. For the 2.5 small it fit well maybe a bit too lose on the bottom ankles and the zipper i had to have my friend help me close the top half but i could move and assuming it will be a bit more flexible in the water and easier to zip after some use. So I think small is the size for me. I am 5 6¨ and weigh 125-130 lbs. The issue is that I want to buy a 7mm but havent had the opportunity to try on a waterproof with the hard knee pad yet to see where they fit. I live in Mexico and family is visiting so returns are hard and I need it for work so I need to get the sizing right! Do you think I will be ok buying a small 7mm if a small 2.5 fits me well?
Hello Lauren, When you are sizing a wet suit or dive skin the two most important measurements are your chest/bust and waist. Height is a secondary measurement and weight is the last measurement you would take into account. Since the 2.5mm and the 7mm are the same manufacture and if the version of the suit is the same the sizing would be the same. If it is a different version of a suit the sizing could be different.
