purchased the retainer to holder my invotec supernova 1000 lumen dive light. the light is aluminum, well built and bright and needed a stronger type of holder to keep it close to my bcd during night/wreck dives. unit works perfectly

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector great item... slighty bigger then expected.
Reviewer: phong n.,
Got this after all the good reviews. After I got the item almost the fallowing day.l (fast shipping) I saw that it was a bit bigger then expected. Still I took it for a test dive. Great big retractor.... iteam works like said, just need to be a bit smaller. If size doesnt matter then this is a great main flash light retractor. Will hold heavy iteams no problem.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector Good piece of gear
Reviewer: Mark R.,
This retractor, with a slight modification, has been a welcome addition to my standard dive gear. I have tried other retractors, but they did not have enough force to hold up my Suunto Cobra console with compass, though it is not very heavy. When I first received this retractor, however, the pull for the first inch or so of the line was not as high as the for the rest of the line, and would not hold the console without sagging. Using a Phillips screwdriver, I was able to open the clip holding the split ring and shorten the line a bit, adding the necessary tension. Now it works like a charm. Others have commented on the physical size of the device, but its not too obtrusive and its worth it to hold my console up. When diving, I hardly even notice it but for the convenience of checking my computer.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector Stainless Steel Connector
Reviewer: Judy J.,  - View all my reviews
When I received the Max Force Retractor with Stainless Steel Carabiner Connector, I first thought I might have gone into "over-kill", I have been known to do that occasionally. But, I bought it to use with my Sunlight C8 eL.E.D. Plus Flourescent Yellow and was so thankful I had gone the extra mile. The light is heavy and anything lighter than this Conector would have simply not have been sufficient for my needs. I do not want my light dangling and getting all scuffed up.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector EXCELLENT Retractor Clip
Reviewer: Heather M.,  - View all my reviews
THIS clip, I really liked. Nice sized connector. The plastic connectors were always difficult to remove from my BC while floating / under water (I was using different clips, connecting my camera housing and flash to the BC) It has decent resistance, good construction. The only con is that the cord had the internal material poking through after a solid week of diving.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector keeps things where they belong!
Reviewer: RENE MANDRONES,  - View all my reviews
Great retractor. Very strong spring keeps things in place, rather than dangling at your waist while you are out of the water. A little larger than some of the other retactors, but the extra strength is well worth the larger size. You cant have everything, but this comes close.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector Large but strong retractor
Reviewer: Eric Jorgensen,  - View all my reviews
I bought this retractor after having wasted my money on two other ones that were not capable of holding my computer off the ground while walking to the water. This one is definitely stronger than most and works well. With my Aeris ai (air integrated computer with compass module) the computer hangs with about 1/2" of line extended out from the base of the retractor. Previously the computer would hang on about 6" of line and swing around. It is strong enough to do the job but not so strong as to be an annoyance. My only complaint is that I thought it was one of the smaller retractors when looking at the picture online. It is a pretty large unit- probably about 3/4 of the size of a deck of cards. Other than the physical size I would have given this device 5 stars.

Reviewer: Vincent Moore,  - View all my reviews
I use this for my gauge console, it has a nice tight spring and keeps every thing pulled in nice and tight. I dont like hoses and equipment hanging down or floating around looking for some place to snagon. My son has one too, hes 10 yrs old and loves equipment and uses one for his gauges.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector Bulky, but good tension
Reviewer: William R.,  - View all my reviews
I bought this to use with an Oceanic Datamax console. Its fairly large when compared with the console, but the split ring fits over the quick disconnect great and the line doesnt extend at all when out of water. All smaller retractors I tried would allow the console to sag. It has plenty of line and is not overly tensioned to allow use of the compass underwater.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector Retractor cable
Reviewer: Timothy Powell,  - View all my reviews
Big, durable retractor cable. I use it to attach my Aeris Atmos 2 dive computer console to my BC so it doesnt drag across the bottom or drift away from my line of site. Cable is long enough for me to extend my arm completely to use my compass and see the displays comfortably. Nice, smooth cable action upom extention and retraction.

Rating: Innovative-Max-Force-Retractor-with-Stainless-Steel-Carabiner-Connector A Good, Strong Retractor
Reviewer: Michael Johnson,  - View all my reviews
Ive used these retractors on everything from little guage consoles to bulky camera/light combos. The tension is strong enough to hold everything in place, yet easy enough to pull over the very ample full length. The carabiner clip makes attachment to a BC a "snap" and the split ring is big enough to accomodate moste accessories. One hint though, I have found it helpful to carry a couple of nylon zip ties to quickly attach the split ring to accessories that dont have a good split ring attach point. Also works good on rental gear when you dont want to fumble with a split ring and can easily just cut the zip tie after the dive to return the rental.

Great for my console - the heavy duty carabiner clip makes it "techie" and easy to attach/detach from my BCs D ring.

Reviewer: Tj David,  - View all my reviews
This retractor is a nice retractor to use for consoles. I use it for my computer and attach it to my D-ring which keeps it in front of my body. It is very durable, more than the mini-retractors, and I wouldn’t do a dive without it because of how easy it makes holding equipment.

Thought Id need it for my computer but, its a little bulky. Might be better suited for a large dive light? Seems like overkill to me unless the smaller ones really arent strong enough.
