Love it! - I bought this camera for my husband and although hes only had it out once, we were very pleased with the quality of photos. He didnt even use the strobe as he was free diving fairly shallow, but the colors were still great with lots of detail. I purchased this one because I know friends whove had camera housings leak and ruin their cameras, so I wanted to go with a company that made both the camera and housing specifically for each other. So far so good. Also the buttons are very easy to find/use underwater and are similar enough to my Canon that I was able to pick it up and use for some land shots without reading any instructions. Overall, were very happy with this setup.

My first underwater camera. - It wasn’t any harder to learn to use than my above ground cameras had been. It is a good camera for the generalist photographer. It was easy to load the camera into the housing. The camera housing was actually small enough that I could stuff the whole thing far enough into the pocket of my Mares BCD to keep it from dangling when I didn’t want to use it. While it did have a long strap, I ended up getting a stretch lanyard to hook to my BCD. That way I could hold the camera at arms length and shoot pictures closer to small subjects. I didn’t purchase the macro lens or the strobe – will probably get the lens next. I would buy this camera again.

Great camera and package deal!! - This my first underwater camera and I found it very easy to use and assemble and I have taken some great shots in West Australian waters over the last month or so. I would definately recommend someone to buy this camera, the sea & sea mode is very handy for water shots and the built in macro lense is amazing. I would also suggest getting the YS-110 strobe too as it automatically adjusts for exposure and the light guide is great for night dives.One last thing the pelican hard case is awesome, I have had it being knocked around in my boat a lot and it loves it, worthy upgrade for sure.Alround great kit and very fun apreciating the life in the water rather than hunting it all the time.

Great for the 50D also - This case fits and works with the Canon 50D camera very well also. Solid construction and very professional quality. I am thrilled with it. The only issue I had when I first received it and put the camera in was that none of the back controls worked, not even the on and off control. After talking with Sea and Sea the problem was that I did not take off the eye guard on the camera. Once I did that everything worked great. It would be nice to get some instruction with it, but Sea and Sea responded to my email very quickly to resolve the issue.

Sea and Sea package could be better - the strobe recycles quickly and the adjustability of the strobe provides an adequate range of of intensity. the strobe arm is a little weak for this strobe. i have had difficulty with the arm holding position especially when trying to move the stobe out from the camera. the strobe is not that heavy but the arm is insufficient. the sync-cord for the flash also is a bit light-weight. i purchased an additional sea and sea l cable for this flash. my recommendation to sea and sea would be to package this with an arm that is a little more heavy duty and with the l snyc cord.

This lens is a must have - If you have the Sea and Sea DX-1G camera outfit, you need this lens. It makes all the difference in the world. As with any wide angle lens, you know you get a better field of view in your photograph, this is a plus when shooting big objects, and for things you want to show more of in your photo. Im glad I took the plunge, and got this lens, and Im also glad I bought it from a great place like scuba.com

Always have 2 batteries handy! - On my recent trip to the Galapagos Islands, I was sooo happy to have an extra battery. After the first dive, my battery died, luckily for me I had the spare ready to go... because the first one would not have had time to charge during our surface interval. So anytime you have a digital camera - make sure you have 2 batteries. One in the camera & one in the charger ready to take over at any time!!

Great Fiber Optic system - This Fibor Optic system is a handy edition for those of us whating to mix and match strobes to cameras. Easy to use different ends. On my Olympus SP-350 the valcro attachment worked on the housing. For the Olympus Strobe designed for the SP-550, it was easy to find a rubber cork and modify it to fit the attachment hole on the strobe.

Great Strobes - I like the strobes and especially like the LED aiming light. It doesnt eat the batteries up which is always a plus. The aiming light takes the guess work out of positioning them because you know exactly where they are pointing. They are small and compact which is always a plus too.

Good but need to be very careful - the sync cord works fine but there is one issue with it. you need to be very careful in hooking it up. it is not easy to make sure it is properly ed in the slots before tightening the locknut down.

Sea & Sea Flexible Light Arm - A perfect item, there are other arms that you can use to further position the strobes. For snorkling this arm is perfect, flexible while sturdy. Have used a similar one with a point and shoot camera. Very simple and practible.
