Oceanic

Oceanic was founded in 1972 by Bob Hollis, and has dedicated itself to innovation ever since. The Oceanic team is constantly designed, fabricating, and testing new products to make diving better. Oceanic developed the first HUD (Heads-Up-Display) style mask, which feeds dive computer information like depth, air pressure, and direction to an LCD screen inside the mask itself. Oceanic also created rebreathers for the Navy, providing their soldiers and workers with M-25 and MK-16 models that allow a diver to breathe longer while at the same time eliminating tell-tale exhalation bubbles. Oceanic even developed a wetsuit for a penguin who was suffering from plumage loss, allowing it stay warm while it grew a new insulating layer.

Oceanic computers use dual-algorithm technology, allowing you to choose the decompression algorithm that works best for you. Oceanic regulators have DVT Dry Valve Technology that prevents moisture and particulate from collecting in the first stage. Oceanic fins are equipped with PEV Propulsion Enhancing Vents that speed water over the blade of the fin, increasing velocity and decreasing energy. Oceanic masks have a one-hundred percent silicone skirt, designed for a perfect fit.

Oceanic buoyancy compensators are made of “Fadeless” Cordura, a high-durability, super fabric that resists abrasions and tears. Oceanic snorkels use Dry Valve technology to keep excess water out of your breathing tube. With Oceanic, you’re always looking towards the future. See less

Oceanic Downloader - USB Reviews

Does the job, but... - i like my vt pro computer, but i think its a shame that the usb cordnecessary for uploading dive data to any computerdoesnt come standard. paying $400-500 for a computer is one thing, but an additional $79 for a simple usb cord stings. i cant imagine the meager additional profit is worth the customer aggravation such add-on costs cause. the product itself works just fine, though the addition of a software cd would have been welcome. the program is a free download from the company website, but its just another example of oceanic asking the customer to jump through hoops for basic functionality. the product works, and is absolutely necessary to keep a full, feature-rich catalog of... Oceanic Ultra Dry Snorkel Reviews

Oceanic Ultra Dry Snorkel Reviews

No more saltwater taste - i recently bought oceanic ultra dry snorkels for my wife and myself. just gave them their first test on a trip to the caribbean, and loved them. i must say i was skepticalthe claims seemed almost too unbelievable. we have always used higher quality equipment (the worst harm to the sport of snorkeling is done by giving novice swimmers a simple j-tube, welcoming a mouthful of sea, and hearing them swear off the reefs forever!), so i wasnt expecting a vast improvement. but the unique valve certainly did make a great difference. after submerging and re-surfacing your first action can actually be inhalation! i found myself still blowing to purge the snorkel- out of habit, but didnt even need to!... Oceanic Air XS II Reviews

Oceanic Air XS II Reviews

Reviewer: Jung K. on 2/3/2007

One less hose, but could be better - The Oceanic Air XS II works just as advertised. It was relatively easy for me to replace the inflator on my BC. My BC must have come with a slightly different hose than the Air XS was meant for. The Air XS came with a clip thats supposed to cover the hose connector, but it wont fit on my hose. The inflator and the purge valve are easy to find. But the dump button is kind of small and will take some time for me to locate without looking. I am happy with the Air XS II and very happy to get rid of one hose. Im sorry I waited so long to make the change.

Oceanic Pocket Semi-Dry Snorkel Reviews

Oceanic Pocket Semi-Dry Snorkel Reviews

Reviewer: Robert L. on 1/27/2007

Bottom Line: "I would buy it again" - My son and I went to Roatan and dove with the standard snorkel hanging off of our heads all of the time. A friend recommended switching to a foldable snorkel and simply keeping it in a pocket on the BC. This model from Oceanic is well engineered and works like a charm. In advance you simply place a very small mating disk (similar to rebust velcro) to the strap of your mask (less than the size of a quarter) and when you want your snorkel on the surface BAM! you whip it out of its BC pocket and attach to your mask strap and you are in business. Super quick and ends the presence of a useless underwater snorkel.

Out of stock but replaced quickly - When I ordered 2 of these masks there was nothing that said they were out of stock. 1 week later, scuba.com emails me and says that its out of stock and it wouldnt make it to me til the 21st of Jan. I was leaving for Cozumel on the 20th so my fiance called them and talked to them. They ended up agreeing to upgrade to the Ion 3 (which they state is not different than the 3x but it is indeed smaller). They also agreed to ship via 3 day shipping but I think we actually got the gear in about 2 days. I was definitely impressed with the customer service and how well they handled there mess up. The masks were great and luckily my fiances head is a little smaller than mine so the ION 3 fit her ok.... View Full Review

Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus 3.0 Air / Nitrox Integrated Computer Reviews

Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus 3.0 Air / Nitrox Integrated Computer Reviews

Reviewer: Gregory R. on 3/15/2014

Scuba.com is the best - This is overall review rather than product specific. As for the datamax 2.1 dive computer, it was unavailable and the quality people at scuba.com recommended the Datamax 3.0. See my review of that. Short story is great dive computer you will love it. As for Scuba.com, they worked against short timeline to fill order equipping my daughter and I with BCDs, regulators, octos, and computers. When OnlineScuba.com failed to deliver BCD and regulator my wife ordered, I contacted the pros at Scuba.com. They had the BCD in stock and were able to recommend several excellent choices of regs/octos for my wife. Everything was shipped next morning and arrived in 48 hours saving trip to Grand Cayman. Oceanic Hera BC Reviews

Oceanic Hera BC Reviews

Oceanic Hera BC - Great BC! Looks great and well fitted for a small woman. Im really glad that the BC has the little loop for the top of the tank in addition to the big tank band because my tank ended up falling out twice by my 4th and 5th dive, but there was no pull on my regulator and it was quickly fixed by my buddy.

Oceanic Vortex V-16 U.S.A. ´´Limited Edition´´ Fins with Spring Straps Reviews

Oceanic Vortex V-16 U.S.A. ´´Limited Edition´´ Fins with Spring Straps Reviews

Reviewer: JOHN S. on 5/7/2014

My take on the Vortex V-16 - I just completed 10 dives in the Dominican with my new fins. First time I have ever used a split fin and it took me about 2-3 dives to settle into the different feel. The fins provide plenty of power when I needed it in current but were delicate enough allow for the fine adjustments I need to make when setting up for taking photos. I also found that I felt less leg and knee strain vs a solid fin. The only advice that I would offer is that the foot pocket runs large. I have a size 13 foot and with my XXL Scubapro Delta 3mm low rise boots the fit was a little loose.
