|Oceanic Downloader - USB Reviews
Reviewer: Eric Evans on 12/8/2007Does the job, but... - i like my vt pro computer, but i think its a shame that the usb cordnecessary for uploading dive data to any computerdoesnt come standard. paying $400-500 for a computer is one thing, but an additional $79 for a simple usb cord stings. i cant imagine the meager additional profit is worth the customer aggravation such add-on costs cause. the product itself works just fine, though the addition of a software cd would have been welcome. the program is a free download from the company website, but its just another example of oceanic asking the customer to jump through hoops for basic functionality. the product works, and is absolutely necessary to keep a full, feature-rich catalog of... |Oceanic DataMask HUD (Heads Up Display) Air/Nitrox Hoseless Computer Mask Reviews
Reviewer: GRANT J on 9/4/2007awesome Datamask HUD - At first I was a little skeptical as it is big and you can definitely feel the weight when it is on your face above water. That all goes away once you drop, it is really awesome to have all the information right below your line of sight. It does not interfere with your vision and it is not obtrusive or too bright. I found it nice when my buddies would signal check your SPG and all I had to do was roll my eyes down. All in all I think it is a great concept and they executed the design very well. I can honestly say I love it and I look forward to many more dives to check out all of its features. But boy is it nice to not have to keep reaching down to look for a set of gauges. What I do... |Oceanic Ultra Dry Snorkel Reviews
Reviewer: Eric R. on 6/9/2012No more saltwater taste - i recently bought oceanic ultra dry snorkels for my wife and myself. just gave them their first test on a trip to the caribbean, and loved them. i must say i was skepticalthe claims seemed almost too unbelievable. we have always used higher quality equipment (the worst harm to the sport of snorkeling is done by giving novice swimmers a simple j-tube, welcoming a mouthful of sea, and hearing them swear off the reefs forever!), so i wasnt expecting a vast improvement. but the unique valve certainly did make a great difference. after submerging and re-surfacing your first action can actually be inhalation! i found myself still blowing to purge the snorkel- out of habit, but didnt even need to!... |Oceanic Ultra Dry Mini Snorkel Reviews
Reviewer: Julia Johnson on 5/26/2007Not waterproof but nice anyway - Unlike the ad, water DOES get into these snorkels - many times in the kind of light waves in Maui - 8 to 12 inch waves. They are however easy to clear and do prevent major swallowing of water that old style snorkels would allow. Not a bad buy for that reason alone. Saved me a couple of times when I had equipment problems and looked down into the water while trying to breath reflexively. Other dry snorkels appear to offer the same benefits so Im not convinced the higher price of this snorkel is worth it if the others prevent snorkels from flooding as well. If you do buy this I doubt you will ever find a way to flood the snorkel which I think is absolutely necessary not only to prevent a bad... View Full Review
|Oceanic Air XS II Reviews
Reviewer: Jung K. on 2/3/2007One less hose, but could be better - The Oceanic Air XS II works just as advertised. It was relatively easy for me to replace the inflator on my BC. My BC must have come with a slightly different hose than the Air XS was meant for. The Air XS came with a clip thats supposed to cover the hose connector, but it wont fit on my hose. The inflator and the purge valve are easy to find. But the dump button is kind of small and will take some time for me to locate without looking. I am happy with the Air XS II and very happy to get rid of one hose. Im sorry I waited so long to make the change.
|Oceanic Vortex V-6 Full Foot Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Chad W. on 3/13/2012New diver: Oceanic V6 full foot split fins review. - I bought these fins to replace the Aeris velocity full foot fins. I used the Aeris fins for one dive trip and also about 6 months doing a mile or more nonstop, 3 to 5 days a week keeping in shape at the community pool. The back of the heels split on me but they still work. I did get a lot of good use out of them. The fins worked nicely, producing good propulsion with less strain on the quadriceps. The Aeris velocity fins feel a bit light weight and flimsy compared to the Oceanic V6 split fins. The V6 have stiff rails down both sides of each. The stiffer fins are more work on the quadriceps, they are harder to kick but seem to give more propulsion per kick, so I believe fewer kicks gives... View Full Review
|Oceanic Pocket Semi-Dry Snorkel Reviews
Reviewer: Robert L. on 1/27/2007Bottom Line: "I would buy it again" - My son and I went to Roatan and dove with the standard snorkel hanging off of our heads all of the time. A friend recommended switching to a foldable snorkel and simply keeping it in a pocket on the BC. This model from Oceanic is well engineered and works like a charm. In advance you simply place a very small mating disk (similar to rebust velcro) to the strap of your mask (less than the size of a quarter) and when you want your snorkel on the surface BAM! you whip it out of its BC pocket and attach to your mask strap and you are in business. Super quick and ends the presence of a useless underwater snorkel.
|Oceanic Veo 1.0 Air / Nitrox 2-Gauge Computer Console Reviews
Reviewer: David Robenalt on 4/16/2010Best "Average Joe" Nitrox Computer - If you are the kind of NITROX diver that wants to enjoy your dives to the max, and hates messing with all your gear before, during, and after..... this computer is for you! I work in a very high tech environment everyday, and have owned 3 dive computers before this one. If you are just going to dive air, they all are fairly easy to use just leave on default settings, but switch to NITROX and most of these are way more computer than what most sport divers need or want and almost impossible to program and reset for each dive. The Oceanic Veo 1.0Air/Nitrox gives you just enough flexability, but makes settings and repetitive dives almost effortless. Nitrox settings can be set for your first... View Full Review
