New products from Mares
They come from far away.
From the passion for diving that sparkled in the eyes of Ludovico Mares. And which, 50 years later, lives on undiminished in every member of our team.
From a history of research and experimentation that has no intention of stopping.
From the persistence of those who believe that the best of today can be the starting point for tomorrow.
They gaze far away.
Beyond the possibilities of existing technology.
Beyond that which is commonly considered ´´the best in diving performance.´´
Beyond the preconceptions of those who believed everything had already been invented.
Beyond the sea at Rapallo, to win over divers around the world.
They will take you far away.

| Mares Sten Mini Speargun Reviews
Reviewer: Robert A. on 9/17/2007
Extremely pleased - i was pleasantly surprised when i recieved this speargun today. a few things for novice speargunners (like myself):
- as youve seen this gun is operated pnumatically. however this doesnt mean that you have to "pump it" like a pellet gun every shot - the chamber is internal and it works much like a pogo stick works - so you push in the spear to "charge" up the pressure and lock the spear into place. a pump is included in the event that you begin to lose pressure over time.
- assembly: the directions are vague - it is made in italy so for the english reader the instructions are not that good. however, i will try to let you know about the assembly. the first step is to assemble the... View Full Review

| Mares 2mm Low Top Medium Sole Equator Boots Reviews
Reviewer: Fran C. on 7/21/2008
Snorkel Booties - It was two days before our 2 week vacation to Hawaii when my package from Scuba.com arrived. I wasnt sure about these booties when they arrived because they were all about function and not much on fashion. I had already purchased another pair of booties from a local retailer before my saleman at Scuba.Com suggested I try these. When they arrived my husband (an ex Navy diver) explained how these booties were made to fit inside my fins with no bunching or rubbing around the ankle, unlike the other booties I had bought. The sole was flexible enough to allow full movement while inside the fins. Also, when I was out of my fins and just in the booties, they fit so snuggly to my feet that I... View Full Review

| Mares 7/5/3mm Trilastic Superstretch Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer: Randy W. on 10/18/2008
Very Comfortable! Easy On and Off. - I was first impressed with how easy it was to put this wetsuit on. As with any wetsuit, I suggest wearing thin Lycra socks and an Underarmour T-shirt, which make on and off much easier. However, the lining in this wetsuit does not tend to stick to your skin. I did not have any problems with the thin water seals around the ankles and wrists. After the suit was on, I was next impressed with how flexible and free my arm and movements were - not the case with other suits I have worn. I am 6, 190, and a Large was a perfect fit, as if it was a custom. I stayed comfortable in the water and on the boat on my last dive trip. I recommend this wetsuit as quality gear for a great price!

| Mares X-Vision Liquid Skin Mask Reviews
Reviewer: Bryan C. on 7/15/2007
Hands down the best mask Ive ever used!!!! - This mask delivers! It is soft, offers a huge field of vision and does not leak. Like most new masks, it does take a few cleanings and uses to get it to stop fogging.
I do have one piece of advice relating to this mask. Buy one with the solid gray/silver skirt instead of the one with the translucent colored skirt. The translucent colored pink/blue/yellow, etc. skirt allows light in through the sides and gives a weird tinted peripheral world view... The solid skirt mask does not do this.

| Mares Quattro Power Full Foot Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Robert E. E. on 7/17/2009
Great fins for underwater hockey - the full-foot fin is a must for underwater hockey players and these came highly recommended. and they delivered! these are extremely comfy, snug-fitting fins (i have wide feet) with lots of stored potential energy (stiff). that is exactly what i was looking forfins built for speed. my uw hockey buddies thought they would make my legs tired in short order, but even after 1.5 hours of bottom time in a 12-foot pool playing at a fairly intense level) much more vigorously than i would if i was scuba diving) i didnt get a cramp or even feel fatigued. in fact, i felt they made me noticeably faster than i had swam previously. i suspect they would be appreciated by others who seek speed (free divers... | Mares Corda Full Foot Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Robert H. on 8/19/2009
The Only Fin for Big Feet - I purchased this fin because it is the only one that I could find by any manufacturer that came in a full foot version and would fit my size 14 feet. The first time I used them, I got the usual rubbing and almost blisters since they hit my feet in different spots than my other fins. A week later, on the second time, they were quite comfortable.
The listing says they are for the pool and not for Scuba. This is probably correct advice. They are much shorter than normal Scuba fins and dont provide the force you are probably use to getting. One other thing...I was using them and trying to teach a student how to self remove a leg cramp. The fins are so short that I wasnt able to reach... View Full Review

| Mares 8/6/5mm Trilastic Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer: Shealeen M. on 7/12/2008
Comfy and Stretchy - This is an amazingly comfortable wetsuit - particularly for the thickness. I think it stretches better than Henderson Hyperstretch and the trilastic material feels soft and cozy. For a womens 7/5 its wonderfully easy to get into and its clearly made for a womans body - curves and all. I really like this suit.
That said, the generous sizing might be a bit of a problem for some. By "generous" I mean that a size 14 will actually fit a woman who wears size 14 jeans. Absurd that I have to consider this generous, but if youve tried on enough suits you will know what I mean. So - if in doubt, Id say order down (It will stretch, after all!). My own suit is a bit big and not as warm as it... View Full Review

| Mares 2.5mm Tropic Shorty. Reviews
Reviewer: Robert DiPadova Jr on 8/8/2009
Great Suit - I purchased this suit to be used for going in the water at Marathas Vineyard. The suit was great offering the warmth and flexibility. One thing to note is the sizing. I was not sure what size to get but a quick phone call to a SCUBA instructor gave me all of the information I needed. They said that Mares sizes fall on the smaller side of their sizing chart. I fell in the middle of the L size chart. After telling him all of my size information he recommended going with the XL. This was some great advice as the XL fit like a wet suit is supposed to. If I had gone with the L it would have been way to tight. So make sure to order a size up or if you are in doubt a quick call to a SCUBA... View Full Review
