Mares X-Vision Liquid Skin Mask
In 1949, Ludovico Mares designed and manufactured his first masks and spearguns with one dream and purpose in mind: To share his unbridled passion for the sea and diving with the rest of the world. At its birth, Mares was just one small factory in Rapallo, but now, only 60 years later, the Italian based company dominates the scuba diving world, and is at the forefront of new and innovative dive technologies. Over the past six decades, Mares has come a long way, by achieving new goals, taking diving to new and extreme heights and depths. The Mares name represents only the best in dive products.
Guided by this principle, Mares has become a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of state-of-the-art diving equipment, and continually sets new industry standards. The constant investment in innovation, the unceasing, patient research in the field of manufacturing materials and processes, combined with the expertise of our staff and a creative, professional approach grants Mares its leading position and makes our brand a synonym of quality, safety and reliability. The best of Mares is wrapped up in every product to meet the needs of each single diver. Enjoy diving with advanced performance through superior technology: this is our mission.

Although we manufacture our products using state-of-the-art machinery and use the most sophisticated electronic equipment, the core of our business and the spark that makes everything happen is still the same today as it was 60 years ago: Passion.

|Mares Sten Mini Rigged Speargun.. Reviews
Reviewer: Robert A. on 9/17/2007Extremely pleased - i was pleasantly surprised when i recieved this speargun today. a few things for novice speargunners (like myself): - as youve seen this gun is operated pnumatically. however this doesnt mean that you have to "pump it" like a pellet gun every shot - the chamber is internal and it works much like a pogo stick works - so you push in the spear to "charge" up the pressure and lock the spear into place. a pump is included in the event that you begin to lose pressure over time. - assembly: the directions are vague - it is made in italy so for the english reader the instructions are not that good. however, i will try to let you know about the assembly. the first step is to assemble the... |Mares Nemo Wide Air / Nitrox Computer Reviews
Reviewer: Donald A. Dutcher on 10/19/2008Mares Nemo Wide - Discounted Display Model - LIKE NEW: I bought the display model which was $200 cheaper than a new one. It was in perfect shape. No scratches on the screen, the battery was 100 percent and the wrist band was uncut. MARES NEMO WIDE: The display is huge so it can display all the essential information on the screen. Everything is clearly laid out for you and easy to see from any distance or angle. The night light glows like the Timex Indiglo. DIVING WITH NEMO: I did 6 dives in Cozumel with my computer. It worked great. It clearly showed my depth and in large numbers my bottom time countdown. Audible alarms can be heard even with arms at your sides. Between dives Nemo does a desaturation countdown and it has a... View Full Review
|Mares 2mm Low Top Medium Sole Equator Dive Boots Reviews
Reviewer: Fran C. on 7/21/2008Snorkel Booties - It was two days before our 2 week vacation to Hawaii when my package from Scuba.com arrived. I wasnt sure about these booties when they arrived because they were all about function and not much on fashion. I had already purchased another pair of booties from a local retailer before my saleman at Scuba.Com suggested I try these. When they arrived my husband (an ex Navy diver) explained how these booties were made to fit inside my fins with no bunching or rubbing around the ankle, unlike the other booties I had bought. The sole was flexible enough to allow full movement while inside the fins. Also, when I was out of my fins and just in the booties, they fit so snuggly to my feet that I... View Full Review
|Mares Avanti Superchannel Full Foot Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Paul R. on 7/19/2008Zippy fins! - The Mares Avanti Tre Superchannel fins were excellent! Comfortable and efficient at all kick styles. Only negative was that they were slightly large for my narrow heels. Have to wear 2mm wet socks on my 10.5 feet. Ordered the large and maybe a size smaller would be better. Should not be a problem for normal heels.
|Mares Volo Power Adjustable Strap Fins Reviews
Reviewer: EDNA DECASTRO on 4/10/2009best fins yet! - many benefits: 1.lightweight so it wont weigh down your already heavy dive bag and in airline baggage wt restritions every ounce helps 2.swim faster in the water with less effort and hence less cramps/weakness of legs 3.if you have long strides when you swim this is the fins for you compared to split fins where you need shorter strides.(note:split fins heavier!) only disadvantage is some older dive bags may not accomdate the width of these fins
|Mares Writing Slate Reviews
Reviewer: Paul M. on 4/11/2013Didnt Actually Buy This Slate - Scuba.com was out of stock - The title says it. This was one of several items for which Scuba.com was out of stock and backordered so long they cancelled the item from my order. At least for this item, Scuba.com let me know it was delayed. Some other items were delayed, so my whole order was delayed without any communication, even though I paid extra for "3-day delivery". I guess that means 3 days after they finally get around to assembling the order and seeing if some items will come back into stock. The Mares slate is probably just fine, but it seems peculiar to be prompted by Scuba.com email to write a review for products they cancelled from my order for being out of stock and backordered. Very unpleased with... View Full Review
|Mares Stainless Steel Fin Spring Straps Reviews
Reviewer: Nick L. on 10/18/2009Better than original straps - Having used spring straps before, I tried using my "universal" straps on my Mares fins but they didnt fit so I ordered the Mares spring straps which for some reason cost almost twice as much as the univeral model despite being identical except for the shape of the mounting attachment. The cost is the only reason that I do not give these straps a five star rating. They DID fit quickly and are much easier to use than the original straps both when donning and removing my fins. I think spring straps should be offered as an option on all fins since the unused OEM straps add considerable cost to the original fin purchase.
|Mares Quattro Power Full Foot Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Robert E. E. on 7/17/2009Great fins for underwater hockey - the full-foot fin is a must for underwater hockey players and these came highly recommended. and they delivered! these are extremely comfy, snug-fitting fins (i have wide feet) with lots of stored potential energy (stiff). that is exactly what i was looking forfins built for speed. my uw hockey buddies thought they would make my legs tired in short order, but even after 1.5 hours of bottom time in a 12-foot pool playing at a fairly intense level) much more vigorously than i would if i was scuba diving) i didnt get a cramp or even feel fatigued. in fact, i felt they made me noticeably faster than i had swam previously. i suspect they would be appreciated by others who seek speed (free divers... |Mares Dragon Ergo BC with MRS Plus Weight System Reviews
Reviewer: Butch Amann on 9/20/2006Mares Dragon BCD a winner - I recently purchased the Mares Dragon Ergo BCD with the MRS Plus weight system. I looked into several other models before making my decision. I am very happy with the vest. It fits well and is easy to put on and get off. The weight release system functions extremely well, and was easy to add or change weights even while underwater. The side pockets are easily accessible. The only problems I had were with the tank clamp, which seemed to be a little hard to get tight, and it did rub a bit in the front shoulder area. This may be in part due to the newness of the unit, and may get better as it is used more.
