Henderson Aquatics was founded by business partners Everett Edmund and Patrick Madison. Both men had also been partners in the marine industry. “Henderson” the business and brand was soon formed and named after the Henderson boatyard located in Port Elizabeth, NJ where the original wetsuit factory was located. Everett Edmund patented the original zip on wetsuit which became standard issue by the US Navy and US Coast Guard. The company was the first to recognize women in diving by creating a full line of suits that offered color and style and soon appeared in the pages of magazines such as Elle and Cosmo. Legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia of “Grateful Dead” fame was an avid Scuba Diver and soon collaborated on a Garcia Signature line of Henderson wetsuits. The Garcia line included a new “Trilaminate” neutral buoyancy material developed by Henderson. During the 1990′s Henderson expanded into markets outside the Sport Diving market, producing it’s first line of surfing wetsuits called “Surf East." Henderson also produced the first wetsuit used for Triathlon competition in 1990.
Henderson Introduced Gold Core Technology, (ultra warm skin -in wetsuit) Hyperstretch (the first ultra stretch wetsuit) Microprene (.5mm wetsuits) Insta Dry (the first wetsuit that dried inside and out in minutes) Hyperflex Wetsuits a new surf brand emerged in early 2002 with a renewed focus on the surf wetsuit market.
Henderson wetsuits, gloves, and boots use high-quality materials like Microprene 2 and Thermoprene. Microprene 2 is an ultra thin, super stretch neoprene that will provide the comfort and freedom of movement found in a Hot Skin dive skin but with the warmth and durability that Skins and fleece can’t provide. Thermoprene delivers quality and performance a step above Henderson Premium Neoprene, offering 75% more stretch and featuring glued and sewn seams on all suits. All jumpsuits feature integrated spine pads and zipper seals as well as Freedom flex knee pads.
Aqualock is a revolutionary wetsuit system design is the first of its kind to offer interlocking wetsuit wrists, ankles and neck openings, which are designed specifically to mate with interlocking Aqua Lock hoods, boots and gloves to form a nearly impenetrable seal which minimizes cold water entry into the Aqua Lock ensemble. The Aqua Lock® wetsuits offer over 250% stretch for unsurpassed comfort and a superior fit.

|Henderson 7mm Aqua Lock Hyperstretch Diving Gloves Reviews
Reviewer:Larry Chinon1/13/2014Expensive but Great Gloves for Cold Water - I am a golf ball diver, diving 6-10 hrs/day, 4 days a week. I have spent a small fortune in various gloves looking for something to keep my hands warm in low 50 deg water. The Hendersons are the best, they have kept my hands warm and functional even during 3hr+ dives. I do not have a Aqua Lock system on my wetsuit sleeve. I do wrap a 1.5" velcro strap or 4" wrap around the proximal opening of the glove to restrict cold water flushing in and out of the glove (this is actually minimal on these gloves, but quit substantial on others)...esp important on extended dives...when working on hookah, I am usually down for several hours/dive. On sizing, I typically wear a large, but on these I... View Full Review

Reviewer:Joan L.on9/15/2013comfortable warm wet suit - I love my new wetsuit. I just used this wet suit to dive in a range of water temperatures 80 degress F to 72 degrees and i was never cold. The " lock" feature at the wrists and ankles worked great and the soft inside was so very comfortable. Even when putting it on for the 4th dive of the day, 10 days in a row I looked forward to wearing it. The ankle and wrist area do keep damp with repeated dives but even when putting on damp it was super comfortable and you warmed up immediately after zipping in. It made my trip to Indosesia unforgettable! I am so glad I purchased it. I have worn 4 other 5-7 mm wetsuits even the one that is made just for your body and this by far has been the best warm... |Henderson 8/7mm Thermoprene Front Zip Semi Dry Wetsuit with Attached Hood Reviews
Reviewer:Barry S.on6/10/2013Very comfortable and warm - Hello - Im new to scuba here in the Northeast. Needed a minimum of 7mm suit plus wanted to have easy entry/exit so I would not need anyones help with the zipper. This suit looks and feels great - very comfortable, true to size chart, extremely warm and easy to get on or off by yourself. Yes - of course water gets into a semi dry wetsuit - but because of the neck, wrist and ankle seals - you really dont get much flushing of new water so you feel very warm and comfortable. While taking my open water cert dives in 53 degree water a few weeks ago - the instructors were freezing in their 7mm wet suits but I was nice and comfy. The 10 year warranty is great for peace of mind on getting the... View Full Review
|Henderson Lycra Dive Skin Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Henry L.on9/2/2013Henderson Lycra Dive Skin - This is my second skin. I recently lost 70 pounds and had to down size. I can not recommend strongly enough the quality and superior fit of these dive suits. I do all my diving in tropical water and I need protection from the sun and sometimes small Jelly-fish. This dive suit is long lasting durable suit made with quality materials. I spear fish and it is light weight and streamlines me to move quickly through the water. If you are going snorkeling or spearfishing in warm water look no further. I would recommend to a friend, family, member, or complete stranger with confidence.
|Henderson 17oz Superior Polyolefin Dive Skin Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Suzanne Holtzclawon1/3/2013Really NICE skin - Ordered this to take on trips to have the option for additional warmth if needed or less buoyant option when it is warmer. Used it the first time as additional layer when on a snorkel tour with manatee. We were in 74 degree water (35 degree air temp) for about 4 hours. I was pretty comfortable for a very long time and give credit to adding the jumpsuit to the mix. I saw where others commented that you need to order the next larger size. I am 58" and weigh about 130lbs and got the medium. It is a little tight initially and I probably should have purchased the large. I bought my husband the 2xl. He wears a Large shirt but has issues with things tight around his neck. He was very comfortable... View Full Review
|Henderson 3mm Thermoprene Step-In Jacket Wetsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Charles Colemanon2/22/2014Met my needs/expectations - we had a snorkeling vacation planned when i recently had unplanned serious abdomen surgery and was looking for a easy to take on and off suit that would also give me thermal comfort due to the aftereffects of surgery. this suit worked great for that purpose. i probably looked a little silly since no one else on the trip needed a suit (because the water was warm to them, but not me), but it helped me enjoy the trip. thanks for providing a great ion to choose from.
|Henderson 3mm Thermoprene Zippered Wetsuit Vest Reviews
Reviewer:Steven E.on2/8/2010Henderson Front Zippered Vest - I purchased this vest to serve a dual role. First to add a layer of warmth while in the lap pool 3 times a week and also to use on warm water dive trips as a substitute for my 4mm shorty. To date I have only been in the pool with it. The front zipper makes it very easy to get on and off. It is well constructed and provides the needed layer of warmth. My only complaint is that while swimming the crawl stroke the zipper doesnt stay zipped all the way. I doubt this will be an issue while diving with much less upper body motion and a BC over the top. According to the Henderson sizing chart I should wear a mens medium (I took measurements to be sure). So that is what I ordered. It was... View Full Review
|Henderson 7mm Aqua Lock Hyperstretch Wetsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Don C.on6/11/2013Excellent Suit! - The Aqua lock system is Fantastic! Did 5 dives here in the Northeastern US, in this suit. Including one night and one deep dive (74ft). Water temp was 58 degrees. The suit kept me very warm. Im convinced colder water would not have affected me. The interlocking of the suit with the gloves and boots, traps just enough water for your body to warm it and keep it there. My entire dive party complained of being cold, but not me. Fleece lining makes it a breeze to put on even when wet and it dries quick.i highly recommend this suit!
|Henderson Polyolefin Hot Dive Socks Reviews
Reviewer:Ruth E G.on9/11/2008Warm and dry socks - I purchased these socks to take with me on my recent trip (08-22-08) to the Galapagos to use when we snorkeled. I looked silly wearing these with my knee length spring suit, however, they did the job by keeping my feet dry and warm while I snorkeled. I loved these socks. I also purchased a hood that worked perfectly. I now want to buy gloves for my hands and a full body suit. Btw-snorkeling around the Galapagos islands was amazing. Our favorite was snorkeling with penguins, sea lions, rays blue footed boobies and an abundance of fish around Pinnacle Rock!
|Henderson 5mm Thermoprene Farmer John Wetsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Robin Dommon9/6/2013Love the Henderson 5mm Thermoprene Farmer John Wetsuit - I bought this suit for my husband to replace a similar one that he had worn for years. He absolutely loves it. The best features are the zip front and the material is nice and stretchy to get into. In addition, it is part of a 2 piece suit, so depending on the dive, you dont always have to wear the whole suit. I dont understand what is so popular about the back zip one piece suits that I see everyone struggle to get into and then they choke you around the neck. Highly recommend this suit!!
|Henderson 3mm Childs Thermoprene Wetsuit Reviews
Reviewer:Kelly L. Boyleon7/5/2013My Premie can swim now! - I was unable to keep my 3 year old son in the water no longer than 15-20 minutes due to his lack of body fat. He was 25 weeks born premature and needs much help physically. This wet suit saved us both. He has now taken swimming lessons, played at Wet and Wild in Las Vegas and now have him in WA state swimming at the ocean side. His life and mine has been so much more happier an at ease since he is kept warm (amazingly) and able to do what other children do as well! Thank you for a great product. Best, Kelly Boyle
