Loved my Zeagle Express

By Bill F.

 -  Montreal, QC, CA

Dove the Express Tech for 14 years and 975 dives. Added weight pockets and D rings. BC is simple, light and comfortable. No complaints at all. 2 straps on the tank was a real plus.

Great BCD

By SHERMAN R.

 -  Holly Ridge, NC, US

Only one dive so far but impressive. Easy to adjust, good streamlining in the water. Handled a steel 80 + 10lbs in a 3mm suit easily . No shifting and good buoyancy. Could use a few D rings but no complaints otherwise.

The Express Tech Deluxe Back Inflator BCD is an ultra-light weight, super compact traveling BC pack with features never-before found in a rig this small. The unique backplate is reinforced with a polymer material that gives the support needed and the flex desired for a comfortable fit. The system comes standard with a 24 lbs (10.89kg) compact bladder with elastic retractors to keep its' profile small. Two sets of center plate grommets allow for attaching twin cylinder assemblies via the bolt and nut arrangement that most tech systems use.

BCD is equipped with dual rear pull dump valves and Zeagle's Bx Power Inflator. The Bx Inflator is unique in its design. Rinsing the internal bladder completely after every day of diving is important to the life of the bladder. The Bx Inflator has a special threaded coupling that allows you to remove the power inflator mechanism and attach the inflator hose to a standard garden hose. This unique feature allows you to fully flush-out the entire bladder with clean fresh water removing salt, sand or other contaminates that can cause wear and deterioration of the Inner bladder. This BC can be called the ultimate travel rig for any type of diving. Take it to the islands for lightweight reef and fun diving or explore the deep holes and ledges that require technical gear and twin cylinders.

Deluxe Harnesses BCD Version:
The Express Tec Deluxe includes all the features from the standard Express Tech plus: - The deluxe harness has an articulated shoulder assembly which will swivel to adjust the harness to the body's contours. The harness is equipped with Airloc buckles on the shoulder section and waist band along with a chest (sternum) strap. All the buckles allow for adjustment for a custom fit and are "squeeze style" side-release for ease of donning and doffing. Express Tec Deluxe BCD also comes equipped with a back-pad and shoulder pads for added comfort at the back and shoulders. Bladder is constructed from durable 1,000-Denier nylon fabric with an internal urethane laminate and all seams are radio frequency (RF) welded for long life and is made in the USA.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Jon G  Does the inflator hose include a cable pull dump to vent air from the left shoulder, or are the hip dumps the only ones?
darrick c  Hello Jon, this would have Dual Rear, Right Shoulder Overpressure Relief/Pull Dump Valves. Yes thier is a cable inside the power inflator hose that you can pull down to dump air if the right side is the higher in the water column than the other options.
Shane C  Does this come assembled, or is assembly required by the customer?
darrick c  Hello Shane, yes this should come assembly, you would just need to adjust fit to your frame.
JOE S  It should come assembled.
Shopper  Can you take off the bladder and use it for a BP/W setup?
JOE S  yes. you can also put other wings on this system. It is set up with 11" grommets suitable for most back plates and wings.
PHILIP K  The system is modular and the wing can be removed
DAVID E  That’s kind of what it is already, although the backplate is synthetic instead of metal. The bladder can be separated /exchanged, and is rated to provide 24# of lift. The straps provide a number of options for attaching D rings, pockets, etc, and the backplate has grommets to provide additional attachment points. You can make a lot of different rigs out of this BC.
KERRY D  what bladder can I change to, part # would help?
JOE S  This can accommodate most bladders that will fit on a back plate.
Shopper  is 24 pounds of lift enough for your standard scuba set up? (al 80 with about 12-15 pounds of weight) Thanks
SCOTT W  Yes. I weight about 180 to 200 lbs and dive with 14 to 16 lbs with this bc. BUT I have made several mods to it. First and most important is to add a crotch strap. I put about 6 to 8 pounds on the tank straps. I started using it with a weight belt. After the first dive I put my drop able weights on the bc waist belt. I like it way more then the vest type.
PHILIP K  More than enough, but always consider what kind of weights you carry etc. im a big guy and carry 20 pounds. So with the tank, regs and gauges, it will barely float in a pool by itself. But once donned its fine. I will add that I like the scout much better than the express, but only because of the cummerbund and pockets.
GARY H  should be plenty of lift as long as you're not grossly overweighted. with a AL80, 3mm wet suit and 12# lead it's perfect for me. because it's not weight integrated it tends to ride up at the surface and wants to roll you face down (at least it does me), a crotch strap helps that, but I think I'm going to add the zip touch weight system to mine (LP doesn't sell it, so looking elsewhere).
Kerry D  no I think you need some more I use a steel tank so I don't use much weight
LONN T  It is enough lift. But for piece of mind I ended up upgrading to a larger bladder.
Christopher G  I would say yes but have dived this bcd with 10 lbs max but sure 12 to 15 should be fine. Great bcd.
JONATHAN H  Works fine for me. I have used as much as 20 pounds with mine
Michael B  Yes, I usually dive with 16lb, I added front and rear weight pockets to mine
DAVID E  I find this BCD provides plenty of lift for me. I normally dive in salt water in a 3mm full suit, and I carry stuff (lights, a small camera, SMB) and I've added a few D rings and pockets. I dive with 12-15 pounds of weight and always have plenty of lift, even without the wet suit. Never an issue in fresh water, either. I took the back pad out of the rig, as I like the tank closer to my body. Lots of shore dives in Bonaire and I never found it to be uncomfortable, even climbing lots of stairs, over rocks, etc.
