Product Overview

We always need to attach more stuff to our equipment to free up our hands when we need them. Lanyards for lights, cameras, gauges, game bags, or maybe even a fish stringer when spear fishing. Retractors are one of the greatest ways to do this. When you need to use the attached, item all you need to do is pull the item and extended the retractor cord. When done, the retractor will reel in the item safe and out of the way.

Retractors not only keep us from losing important accessories, they also protect both the accessory and the dive environment. Items that hang from our equipment can break coral or damage the accessory, but retractors prevent this. The XS Scuba Micro Retractor is their smallest and lightest retractor to date. The Micro Retractor measure only 1.5" x 1.3" x 0.4" (38mm x 33mm x 10mm). The retractor is recommended for whistles, lobster gauges, slate pencils and small knives. It attaches to the diver with carabiner locking style snap clip and attaches to gear with 7/8" stainless steel split ring. Made from durable plastic with a Sectra/Nylon cable that extends to 36" (91cm), with a pull force of 2.5 oz. (7 g) and the cable line has a breaking strength of 40 lbs. (18 kg).

The retractable spring is too weak

I wish the weight capacity was called out on the product description. The spring was too loose for everything including a set of car keys

Mirco Refractor

small and light. and small! just small enough that the plastic attachment clip will not admit the thickness of the d-ring on my harness. if you have attachment points that are less than 3/16" thick, this connector will work for you. i solved the problem with a zip-tie. the load placed upon the retractor must be limited to about an ounce. i hung my b.u.d. secondary computer onto the retracting clip and found that the whole thing dangles a bit more than i expected. its a good retractor for a light loadexactly as advertised. but allow for its total length of dangle, and expect a small risk of entanglement because of it. i like the device. i asked the wrong job of it. my fault. good tool.
