My best hood

I bought this hood to replace my Henderson hyperstrech 3mm. I am exteremly happy with the fit and performance of this hood. I'm using it with the new Scubapro C-zip Everflex wet suit. I lobster dive in the winter in Bermuda and love how much longer i can last in the water before feeling cold. A great hood, a great buy.

I can't say enough about waterproof products. There cost a bit more but the quality and craftsmanship outweigh the bit of the higher price.

The body reacts to cold by adjusting the blood flow to different parts of the body, like hands, fingers and feet. The body cannot-adjust-blood-flow to your head to ensure brain function always. The colder it gets the more heat you lose from the head by radiation, or by conduction in the water. You stay warmer with an effective hood.

Waterproof's H1 3/5mm nylon-2 neoprene rubber hood with Waterproof's exclusive Hood Air Venting System (HAVS) is constructed with these scientific facts in mind and are proven to keep you warmer when you need it most. That's what Waterproof refers to as facing reality". Waterproof's Exclusive Hood Air Venting System (HAVS) uses double one-way valves to eliminate annoying trapped or build-up air caused by your regulator's exhausted air entering the hood and features a 5mm double layered protection in critical heat loss areas.

The Hood has an anatomical 3-D shape for a great fit with Glide-Skin seals, reflective logo, I-Span super-stretch nylon for easy donning and all seams are glued and sewn with bonded hi-quality nylon thread for strength and durability. Hood is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.

KENT M  I'm around 18" in neck about 23 1/4" in the head should I go up to the xxl? Will the hood still be tight enough around the face?
Mario C  I too believe that on that hood XXL would be the best bet. To make sure of fit, one way... trying it..
PATRICK M  I think the hood will just fine at XXL. I found Waterproof product to fit a little smaller. Absolutely great products, but sizing is smaller, at least for me it is.

Takeshi T  Do you put the fabric around the neck of this hood inside the suit? Or is it a type of hood to put out the fabric around the neck outside the suit?

BRIDGET D  You can do either. I have long hair and only dive in 80+ F waters, so I leave the hood edges outside my wet suit. However for colder temps I would tuck it in. But I don't dive colder temps 😁

ADAM L  Inside the suit otherwise water will circulate more and your body heat will drop. Remember your head is the biggest source of heat loss.

MICHAEL G  You can do either depending on the amount of warmth you want or need for any given dive. For maximum warmth, put the neck fabric under your wet suit. If you get too warm, or need medium warmth, leave the nexk outside so that you can flush your head from time to time if you get too warm.
KEVIN F  You can wear it either way, but it is designed to be tucked in.
STEVEN A  Always inside with any hood that goes below the neck. You can wear it outside, but water will get under it easily.

JIMMY S  There is a size chart on the Waterproof site.... I used this and got a large, which works, but I wish I'd gotten XL....
KEVIN C  I have a fairly large head, usually an XL, but the Large fits fine. The HAVS doesn't work well at all though, so I put my own ent in with a soldering iron
DARRELL B  There is a "see size chart" link on the page where you order the hood. Click on it--it has the head circumfrence in cm or inches with the corresponding size. I used it and mine fit. I believe LP will do a free exchange if the one you order does not fit.
JUNE H  What is the circumference of head at widest point? and circumference of neck ?
XIANG L  circumference of head is about 61cm and circumference of neck is 43cm.
BRIDGET D  I am away from my diving equipment so I can't check the size I purchased. I'm guessing it was a small. I am a petite women 5'3" 125 pounds and found the hood fit perfectly. It was very comfortable , kept me warm, fairly easy on and off, and the vent worked -no bubble above my head. I recommend this hood.
