Valve was easy to install and works great for switching between DIN and yoke.

XS Scuba's Valves are designed and manufactured for long life and heavy use. The Thermo DIN/Yoke Pro 2400 psi (230 bars) is no exception. Valve is made of marine grade brass with triple bright chrome plating for long life protection in salt water. Precision Machined from high tension brass and chrome plated valve stems for years of service and corrosion free operation. Valve is factory cleaned for pre-blended nitrox up to 40% FO2. All O-rings are Viton and EPDM material and are lubricated with Christo-Lube MGC-111 Lubricant. The High-Pressure Seat is Nylon assuring the diver safe use with Nitrox.

Easy Grip soft rubber hand wheel with stainless steel insert ensures long life and large ribs make turning handle easy even when wearing gloves. Valve bonnets are copper crush washer sealed. Standard yoke outlet w/spin-out adapter converts to 230 bar DIN outlet, Service pressures: 2400 (230 bar). Valve is equipped with a one-piece safety plug, has a 5/32" hex wrench Dip Tube for positive retention and 3/4" x 14 NPSM inlet threads which fit nearly all DOT aluminum and modern steel cylinders. All this and more makes this the valve of choice for the serious diver.

Shopper  What is the burst disc pressure?
RALPH W  I'm not sure but a quick search of 'scuba burst disks' reveals that 2400 PSI working pressure BDs typically are designed to blow at 4000 PSI. 3000 PSI working pressure are designed to blow at 5000 and 3500 PSI working are designed to blow at 5250. (when new, properly installed etc) I've seen an old & tired LP burst disk fail when accidentally over filled to less than 3500 PSI. Burst disks will usually fail when a full tank is at it's hottest -- right after being filled or if it's left in a hot car. It's loud and scary but not particularly dangerous. Seeing how I'm completely reckless and insane (technical diver) I have put this valve on a 3000 PSI Aluminum stage bottle and it hasn't killed me yet. The worst it might do is lose my gas. (Putting a high pressure burst disk in a low pressure tank, on the other hand is riskier. Doubling up burst disks is just plain reckless because you have no idea when/if it might blow in an emergency like a car fire. If you are going to cheat, at least do it by a measured amount after careful analysis.) Safest thing to do is get the right valve for the tank. I wouldn't mess around just to save a few bucks. (There is a fine line between clever and stupid that often only appears in hindsight!)
Shopper  Is this a yoke or DIN valve?

YAN G  Its a Pro valve. Which means it can be either. Leave the Insert in, its a yoke valve. Take the insert out, and it becomes a 232 bar DIN valve.
