We hunt Lionfish in the Caribbean, spearing them then feeding them to passing Snappers and Groupers who will stay away from them but eat them if they are injured/dying. The larger Lionfish are still dangerous until you cut the white-tipped spines off. After that, the Snappers and Groupers tear them apart. These shears are perfect for that.

Zip tied to air inflator hose, easy to access. No rust in 100+ dives. Great tool above/under water.
Highland by XS Scuba's Titanium EMT Shears are a strong and durable pair of shears that can cut through most anything! Shears are manufactured with 420-grade stainless steel with a rust-resistant titanium coating. The Titanium EMT Shears have bright red handles for easy identification. The shears hinge bolt is made from 304-gade stainless steel. All in all, these are one great pair of shears! The shears measure 7.25" (18.42cm) in length. For Sheath (see SKU: XSSSFS).

does the metal on these scissors go throughout the handle?
Steve S
The metal does go into the plastic finger holes. It does not go all the way around the finger hole though.
REBECCA S
No. The metal ends at the top of each finger loop. I like the shears, good utility and price point.
TERRY C
The metal does go into the handles; the shears seem to be strong enough for most underwater tasks.
STEVEN M
I cannot tell how far the metal extends into the handle. They are good shears though.
Charles D
Do these EMT shears come with some sort of sleeve and velcro locking mechanism?
CARL M
Charlie,
The EMT Shears do not come with a sleeve or pouch, just shears.
DANIEL P
No, the shears are packaged in a plastic sleeve (as you might see on a shelf display in store) but do not have any sort of usable sleeve or tether. They are solidly built shears nonetheless.
