About H2Odyssey Extra Air Source Station Kit Complete Package

This Package includes everything you need for a Redundant Air System except the Air Fill:

You're 60' (18 meters) down, and your primary air source malfunctions, you can't get air! What do you do? Pull-out your extra air source, calmly make your way to the surface, make a safety stop and once back on the boat or on shore thank your lucky stars" you dove with the extra air source. The Extra Air Source removes existing limits on redundant air currently on the market and allows you to configure a redundant air source tailored to your diving- needs. Whether you're cave diving or diving shallow reefs the Extra Air Source will get you to the surface and even provide you with enough air for a safety stop if configured correctly for your maximum depth.

Having a redundant air source for increased safety allows independent emergency air not dependent on your primary air supply. An octopus or breathable inflator system both depend on the reliability of your primary air source. If it malfunctions you're out of air! The EAS2 gives you the reliability of a redundant air system using a dependable non-balanced flow-by piston first stage with a downstream demand valve second stage. The first stage regulator threads directly into the neck of the cylinder eliminating the need or bulk of a cylinder valve or hose. First stage has a sure grip on/off valve hand wheel that is easy to turn even with gloved hands. The first stage is equipped with two 3/8" threaded low pressure ports and one 7/16" threaded high pressure port on the marine grade chrome platted brass body for corrosion resistance and long life.

The second stage regulator has a bright yellow purge cover, is a dependable simple downstream demand valve design which connects to the first stage via a 360° vertical/horizontal swivel. The second stage has a quality silicone mouthpiece, diaphragm and dual exhaust valves in a dual exhaust manifold for ease of inhalation/exhalation when in an emergency out of air situation. The large purge button makes clearing the regulator safe and easy. The first stage regulator threads directly into the neck of the included 6 cubic foot (cu. ft.) 3/4"-14 NPSM aluminum cylinder eliminating the need or bulk of a cylinder valve.

The included lightweight 6-cu. ft. aluminum cylinder fits into H2Odyssey's Quick Release EAS Bag. The bag is the best way to mount your redundant air system. The bag is designed to hold the 6-cu. ft. tank, and easily clips to your BCD "D"-rings. Bag is made of durable nylon material with two adjustable quick release buckle straps. Kit comes equipped with the handy station filler adapter. Adapter allows your Extra Air Source System to be filled at the local dive store or while diving from a boat equipped with a fill station. The adapter has a cylinder vale head that will conveniently work with your local dive retailer or charter boat fill station not making you sacrifice your primary air source supply. The Station Filler is made of durable chrome plated brass and corrosion resistant materials. If you need the Yoke Filler Adapter that allows your Extra Air Source System to be filled on the beach or where a compressor is not handy, see H2EASYFA Yoke Filler. Product comes with an owner's manual.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

CAPT. FORREST P  So does this kit come complete with a pony bottle?
KEVIN F  Yes, this comes with a 6 cubic foot cylinder.
SARRETT, J  Is this the Nitrox version? The owners manual on H2Odyssey's website indicates that there are 2 versions, one regular one and one nitrox one.
B C  This is the standard unit. We do not currently carry the nitrox specific unit.
Shopper  Does the h2odyssey air complete kit come with a submersible pressure gauge?
DAVE J  I ordered a separate gauge when I ordered mine. Turns out mine came with a gauge, so now I have two. I should mention that the gauge reads the pressure on the high pressure side of the regulator. NOT the bottle pressure. When you turn off the bottle, the gauge still shows the pressure, but after a day it has goes to zero. I thought that the gauge was reading the bottle side, and assumed the valve was leaking. Should have known better.
YAN G  No, it does not.
gary j  how long would the air last if you were not underwater and using it? and how long would it last if you were just sitting in about 30 feet of water not moving? thanks
MICHAEL M  At any depth the air supply will last the rest of your life. It is impossible to say how long that will take as everyone has thier own air consumption rate.
gary j  thanks for getting back with me. you have answered all my questions on this issue. we are considering mulitiple items and issues, thanks again
THOMAS PHOENIX I  i HAVE NEVER SAT AROUND ON THE SURFACE BREATHING THROUGH MY EXTRA AIR PACK AS IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE BUT!! i HAVE USED IT FOR UP TO 20 MINUTES FIXING MY DOCK ECT AND HAVE USED IT MANY TIMES TO SUPLIMENT MY MAIN AIR SUPPLY DURING WRECK DIVES ECT. I GUESS THAT AT A STEADY 30FT YOU WOULD GET ABOUT 7 TO 10 MINUTES IF YOU ARE A EXPERIENCED DIVER
Robert J  Hi Gary - It all of course depends on your air consumption, but I have used this in a pool (0'-12') for up to 20 minutes with controlled breathing. I am not sure about 30', but I would imagine a maximum of half that time. This is a great tool to be able to resurface. Depending on your depth, it is questionable whether you would be able to complete your entire safety stop, but it would certainly be able to save your butt. Just to test it, I have surfaced from 60' with this, a slow ascent rate including the safety stop, and still had about 400lbs. of air left. This is also excellent for spending a few minutes at shallow depth exploring or inspecting the bottom of your boat without donning full gear. It is made as a safety backup, but with a bit of caution it can be used for so much more.
SEAN S  10-15 mins......if Your control in Your breathing!
RHETT J  I used it this past lobster season instead of regular scuba gear. The longest I could stay down was around 7 minutes. Most of the time I was fightng the current, limiting me to around 5 minutes of downtime. A full size tank would provide about 8 refills before the pressure got to low to be useable.
ALBERT L  Depending on your breathing rate, a full charge should last about 6 minutes.
Shopper  does this price include a 6 cu foot cylinder?
LeisurePro S  yes, this includes the tank
